A nurse from Jersey is calling on islanders to regularly check their blood pressure.

Sarah De Gruchy, a cardiac rehabilitation nurse, has urged islanders to have it checked despite having to pay a fee.

A report in Jersey showed that at the end of 2023 hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, was the most common long-term condition in the island.

Ms De Gruchy said: "If you don't check your blood pressure you simply don't know what it's doing."

She added: "Exercising can be a brilliant way to bring your blood pressure down as well as losing weight."
