Tributes have been paid to a 23-year-old woman who was found dead in her home in Nottinghamshire.

A murder investigation is continuing after Stephanie Irons's body was discovered in Westdale Lane West at 22:07 BST on Tuesday.

In a tribute, Miss Irons's family said their "bright young star has had her future taken away".

On Friday, Nottinghamshire Police said a 40-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, while a man, also 40, remained in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

Miss Irons, who was known as Steph, was described as a "beautiful, loving and caring daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend" by her family.

"She had compassion for others and would always see the good in everybody," the tribute added.

"She had a huge heart and wore it on her sleeve."

Police placed three cordons around three scenes across Nottinghamshire in connection with the investigation earlier this week.

A cordon was in place in Westdale Lane West, with another in Woodborough Road.

A third cordon was placed around a taxi in Edwards Lane, outside Oxclose Lane Police Station in Bestwood.

The force appealed for anyone with information that could help with the investigation to come forward.
