Man dies in suspected hit-and-run crash

A man in his 20s has died in a suspected hit-and-run crash in Poole.

Dorset Police said the man was found unresponsive in Wimborne Road shortly after 02:00 GMT, having been involved in a collision with a vehicle that had failed to stop.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 51-year-old man from Bournemouth was later arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. Road closures are expected to last throughout Wednesday afternoon.
