January 2007Goodbye and HelloHappy New Year Federico (and everyone else),
December has been a very interesting month for us finding out about your fascinating job. I thought that I travelled a lot before I read your blog! Unfortunately, it's a new month so time to say goodbye. We'll leave you to your panettone and your battered copy of Don Quixote and wish you the very best for 2007.
It's time to say hello to Soyoung Lee from Korea. As always, I'll let the new blogger introduce herself...
All the best

posted on Tuesday, 02 January 2007 | comment on this postHappy new year, everyone!!I haven’t imagined that I could win blog competition this month. I was surprised that William called me to inform that I won the competition. I felt that I’m very lucky to get into BBC student blog. Thank you for the opportunity to tell my stories to everyone who is learning English through BBC.
I’d like to introduce myself to you. My name is Soyoung Lee. I’m living in Seoul, S.Korea. I’ve been working for a freight forwarder, TNT Freight management korea since I joined it last year. I’m almost working in this filed around 10years. You can ask me whether I’m satisfied with my job or not. I could say that I like sort of them but sometimes my workload is heavy to set up. Customer service is sometimes hard to follow up our shipper’s request because their focus is not the same as mine. Each shippers called every minutes that they pushed me to give instruction even if I didn’t have it yet. I’m bothering on such a huge calls and request. But I feel it's a good job because I help others who need to introduce shipping arrangement and customs regulations for exporting countries, to export their shipments and arrange it convenience.
Do you have any acknowledge about freight forwarder? I’m handling for export & import shipment. I’m following up my customers request that they like to ship out their shipment to overseas. I offer the rate and draw up B/Ls and communicate with overseas co-workers. I’m writing e-mails in English everyday. It’s typical job to me. But my English pattern is almost same that I don’t use very many vocabularies because we communicate simple sentences. I have to stop writing about my job because I’m feeling being presentation. How do you learn English except learning English on BBC?
By the way, I have to say to you at first, Happy new year everyone!!
What did you do new year’s eve? Is there any special ceremony? Tell me what you did.
We’re celebrated New year with friends and family. People’s going to city hall to enjoy fire works and The Bell tower at Jongno to listen to new year’s bell. Many famous singers are preparing the gigs for new year. Parents went to The Bell tower with children to show new year’s celebration. I was at home with my father. We both had a dinner but I made a toast by myself. Did it sad to me? No, I didn’t feel. I wrote to my year’s resolutions while I was listening to the radio. It was nice to me because I haven’t had a time to think about myself properly. Tomorrow, I’m going to tell you about new year’s resolutions. Tell me what’re you going to do this year? Don’t be worry about breaking it. It’s always difficult to keep on our minds but it’s much better to make for much better future. As long as you remember your plans for new year you'll do your best!!

posted on Tuesday, 02 January 2007 | comment on this postNew year's resolutionsHow’s today?
It’s chilly and cold wind in korea. Temperature is around 9 degree. Is it warm? It will be down to much colder this weekend. What weather do you like? I like summer and can’t wait to lie down on the beach in the summer. Is it too early to think about hot summer?
Now I’m talking about new year’s resolutions. Have you made it? What’re you going to do? I like to make plans prior to starting everything. I made an outline before I traveled. I traveled to European countries two years ago while I was staying in UK. At that time I was in library to find out sufficient information for my travel. There have a lot of information about each cities and treasures. I’m full of it to tell friends about my travel even if I haven’t experienced yet.
Most of my friends told me that I’m cautious. Stephen, Is it proper word to describe my character?
About new year’s resolutions, I don’t know whether I can keep going on promises without fail or not. I’m ready to start it because I’m finding a way to progress it.
First, I’m learning a guitar. It’s easy to learn a guitar for some people but I haven’t played it yet. I’m looking for music institute to learn it. My brother is playing the guitar very well but he hasn’t enough time to teach me. The reason why I decided to learn guitar is it would be a good friend that I played it anywhere I carry. The piano is heavy to move with me. I want to play it to others and sing together.
Second, I’m doing YOGA. Do you know YOGA? It’s from India and very popular practical exercise in korea. I have to loose my weight and also keep healthy condition. Of course, I’m not fat or plump. It’s a trend in korea that Woman always like to keep slip and shaped. I’m not going to that kind of trend, I know I have to keep healthy to live. If I lost health I can’t do anything. Third, I’m reading lots of books this year. It’s more important than others because I can be happy and satisfied with myself when I’ve got acknowledge from books. Fictions, non-fictions, professional, critical and comics, all kind of books will be improved my life quality. I realized that I could get happy and warm heart.
Forth, I should be happy. Life is not short that our average length of life is over 75 if I don’t have a cancer or diseases to die. How much do you feel happy in your life? Most of them can’t feel it enough because of stressful and hard condition. I know what can be happy to me. I want to be spent my life without repentance.
Everybody, cheer up!!

posted on Wednesday, 03 January 2007 | comment on this postFavorite FoodsThere is student’s winter vacation in korea until early of next month. I’m living nearby boy’s high school, many students are packed in the bus before I take it. I’m quite annoyed because I have to run and push other people to stand up my steps on the bus. It’s called mini-bus that is driving away for short distance and have seats around 15. I’m going to subway station by mini-bus and transferred to subway to get off my office. I’m almost exhausted when I’m getting off the subway that is really packed as if I’m a drowing man. I can’t move any steps to the next and people on the subway is quite sensitive because of the same reason as me. Fortunately it’s much better than school days because no student on the bus and subway. Also my journey is shorter than before. I’ll be safe to take bus and subway for student’s vacation.
What’s your main transportation to move your way? Are you driving a car to the destination?
I’m going to talk abut my favorite foods. Have you ever eaten any Korean foods? Most western people like to eat bulgoki. It’s very popular that you taste it Korean restaurant in your country if you have it. For me, my favorites are jajangmyun, samgyupsal, jokbal and dukboki…
There are strange words to you because of Korean.
I drank soju and eun-kyung wrapped jobal into lettuce.
I met one of my friends at myungdong yesterday. We’re going to shopping to buy her friend’s birthday gift at the department store. After that, we went to jokbal store to have a dinner. There are various foods to taste what you like to eat at myungdong which is very famous area for citizen and tourist. Can you guess what jobal is? It’s foot of fork. Is it strange to eat foot? No, taste is very nice and tender. I think if you have a change to eat it, you’ll be really liked to. I drank soju which is very traditional Korean alcohol and it made a harmony to eat with other meal especially dinner.

About jajang myun, we believed that it’s from china but Chinese foods don’t mention it. it’s transferred to Korean’s taste and developed a few difference. Tastes are a bit sweet and salty and color is black because of black bean source. Price is quite cheaper around 4,000won (2.25pound) per a plate. After we ate it, her boyfriend came to pick us up and took me at home by car. By the way she’s going to get married this March. It’s not long time going out with him that they met last October at first. both parents drove them to get married as soon as possible because of age. Congratulation to my friend, Eun-kyung!!
posted on Thursday, 04 January 2007 | comment on this postMy favorites - MoviesI read teacher’s blog this month that Stephen posted it after he came back to London. Stephen used many practical words for me and everyone who is contacting Learning English on BBC.
Teacher’s blog is really helpful and interesting for us that he wrote anything about his life with useful English. I was feeling friendly when I was reading his blog.
He asked me about Soju, Korean traditional alcohol. It makes that alcohol is diluted with water. It’s almost 18% alcohol and no color like water. If you don’t like to drink Soju you pour it into your water glass. It has been happened occasionally because I was enough to drink. How much do you drink? For me, one bottle of Soju or two bottles of beer. I’m not good at drinking as I’m getting older.
Have you ever seen new movies? What’s new released movies at the cinema in your country recently?
I was on the que to buy popcorns and a coke.
I like romantic comedy, drama, animation and humanism. I don’t like violent, horror and action movies because it makes me nervous and threatened. I was feeling so bad for a few days after I saw the movie, Old boy which has won the prize of Canne and directed by Korean director, Chanuk, Park.
I think the movie ‘TAzza’ (The war of Flower is English name) was the best one last year in Korea. It’s about Korean style casino, called ‘Hwatu’that a young boy wanted be the best player, called Tazza in Korean at casino. He learnt about technical skills and how to play a trick on cards from previous legendary Tazza whose perfomed by Younsik Baek. It's all about to be tricked player and showed spectacle actions with wide angle. Before I told you, I don't like violence or bloodic movie and it's also has scenses like that. I yelled with surprised and a friend of mine teased me to be timid. How stupid I am that can't see movie daringly. What was your best move last year, Stephen?

I always bought popcorns and a coke at the cinema before entered my seat. It's much enjoyable to eat while I'm watching a movie at the cinema.
I've seen the movie, 007-Casino royale on new year's day with a friend. Have you seen it? I like main actor, Daniel Craig who has been perfomed to 'The mother'. Critics has reviewed his peformance at the movie that 007 is unlike previous strong and intense actor. It's doesnt' matter because I think he described 007's weakness and sensitive heart.
I've got home right now. I was busy at work because I had to close records instead of my manager that she's out of office for 3hours. I was feeling relaxed as I checked time to close to work. Happy time to escape from works.
After finished working at 6PM I went to COEX mall, located on near my office to have a dinner with my co-workers. We ate dukboki that is very chilly and hot. It's mixed vegetables and rice cake with chilly source. We moved to drink to a cafe. I like to chat company's stuffs with them because we're under similar stresses at work and it can be helped to share each other's problems.
It's so late almost 11PM in korea. What're you doing? Is it burning Friday? I'm going to houseworks tomorrow. I have to do loundary, cleaning up a house and wash dises. I'm living with my parents but now my mom is away to Beijing that my sister's been living.
My mom is coming back next Thursday. I can't stand waiting for her because I want to stop hosueworks at all.
You think I'm not young to live with parents and I should live alone. Normally children don't live away from parents before getting married.
I'll tell you about korean family later.
Have a nice weekend!!
posted on Friday, 05 January 2007 | comment on this postAbout my familyHello, everyone,
How you have been up to? Did you spend time for relaxing on weekend? It’s very freeze in Korea. The day before yesterday, it’s snowed and heavy wind like storm. How’s weather in your country? I just spent time to do all the housework as I planned. Stephen, I’m good at cooking. I’m cooking any Korean foods. If you want to taste it, please come to Korea. I’ll cook for you. I’m definitely sure that I took a rest at home last Sunday. Unfortunately even I didn’t go to the church. It’s shamed that I’m not good Christian recently. It means that I'm far from the church without reason. I don’t know why I didn’t feel very comfortable and holy while I was serving to God. I couldn’t pray to God that I was not enough to seek God’s purpose for me. I wanted myself to pray to God on the knee as much as I was anxious to know his will for me. I didn’t realized what he really wanted me to change. Do you believe in God? If so, could you suggest me how to recover this difficult moment?
Stephen, you asked me to make a list of questions for you. To be honest, I don’t know what kind of questions to you. Tell me first, what do you like to ask? For example, it’s about personal or educational. Also, if you have any questions to me, I’ll write to you. Is it possible to switch our role? Sorry that I’m not good girl to follow instruction by you. I believe you understand why I can’t make a list for you.
I’ll tell you about my family from now. My parents have 1 son and 4 daughters. My sister, named Young eun, first daughter of my parents is living in china as I told you on previous blog. She’s been to Bejing almost 3years. My brother-in-law is working for accountant company in Beijing. She’s not working and taking care of her 3kids. They are adorable, cute and lovely, sometime they are not polite but it’s no problem because my sister knows how to teach them. She’s very good at growing up her 3kids so they’re absolutely relied on her. She’s educational point of view that kids should be polite around of people.
My cousins, Boy is Hosun, Girls are Jiwon and Hyewon. Are they adorable enough?
I visited Beijing to see my sister twice that I stayed with them almost 2weeks at first before I flied to U.K. One thing, I didn’t tell you that I was in Manchester for 9months 3years ago. I was totally exhausted at work and wanted to take a rest because I realized I needed time to think abut my future then I decided to go abroad for studying more. My job needs good English skills and speaking fluency. I don’t think my English is much better than before but I’ve got unforgettable experiences in U.K that many foreign friends are still around me and beautiful atmosphere is reminded on my mind I traveled. Oh, I should be stopped writing about that because it can be a long story. I’ll tell you later. I visited Beijing last year. A friend of mine, who named Maggie, Chinese, lived in the same house, the next room to me, is living in Bejing. She’s very nice, kind, warm and very smart. We haven’t seen each other almost 2years after I left for Seoul. It was very good time for us because we’re only knowing each other from the deep heart. She wanted me to have a big dinner with her parents when I’ve been there but I couldn’t it. I’m very sorry about that again. Now we’re sometimes talking on MSN. She liked to work in U.K. She’s waiting for work permit by Chinese government. I hope she can work in U.K as much as she wanted.
 I took photos in Manchester.
My oldest sister’s kids are studying in English at international school in Bejing. I think their English is better than me because they’re very young to learn languages. You know, it’s not easy to learn foreign languages as you getting older. I tried to learn Spanish last year but failed to learn and must be tried to it this year again. Tell me and make me encourage, I can learn anything what I want.
It’s a little out of focus blog that I didn’t describe on my family very well.
I’ll tell you more stories soon.
posted on Monday, 08 January 2007 | comment on this postMy momeries - TravelHello, everyone,
How are you today?
I’m not very well because Stephen makes me under pressure that he corrected my blog to improve my English skills. I understand I’m not good to write and speak to English because I’m not English. I understand I have to take his advice on my writing, it needs rewriting. I know that I should be enjoyed writing the student blog for everyone who likes to read and learn from the BBC learning English. That’s not problem he corrected my blog because it’s his responsibility. Stephen, thank you so much for kind and helpful advice to me.
Stephen, you’re going to Mount Kilimanjaro in 5 weeks. Are you controlling your daily life to make good health for climbing? What’re you doing? A friend of mine, she climbed to Mount Anapruna in Nepal. She climbed to Mount Jjri which the longest mountain range in Korea, is called Baekdudaegan, the hardest mountain to climb, height is 1915M. She’s also climbing other mountains for practicing regularly and jogging to hundred miles from her house everyday. She didn’t eat too much like you and controlled weight. The other problem is she had to comply with lack of air on the hillside. All her practices were sufficient for her before she left. She finally succeed in climbing. After she arrived in Seoul, she told me her secret that she met a man, now he’s her husband while she was climbing. He liked to get in touch with her continually because he fancied her at first sight. Can you imagine it’s happened to you? Hopefully, you would have. Do you believe first sight love?

I have never tried to climb that mountain because I could be another heavy load for others. Last year I climbed several mountains with co-workers but they definitely agreed that I’m really bad for climbing. I was hiking one of mountain at Mount Mont blanc in Chamonix, France. Have you been there? It’s really beautiful and lovely place to take holidays. I got the information from lonelyplanet which is very famous travel guide for traveler. Most Korean visited to Interaken, Swiss while they’re traveling in Europe. They liked to see snowing country, Swiss but my visit was very fantastic choice to go Chamonix. I still feel that atmosphere which was impressed clean and fresh air. I’ll tell you more stories about my travel and share what I was impressed.

Have a nice day!!
posted on Tuesday, 09 January 2007 | comment on this postAbout my jobHello, my friends,
How’re you today?
Stephen, you don’t feel sorry about my emotion of your correction because it’s your job and responsible for everyone who is studying in English on BBC.
I’m immature that I couldn’t control my feeling about your good reconstruction. I have to admit that I’m not fully prepared to accept other’s opinions. I have to turn to positive mind right now. I know, your rewriting of my story should be required because I’m learner. You’re very kind adviser, help me to improve and extend English skills. Thank you very much for your patience.
I was very busy at work until 4 PM. Now it’s much convenience to breathe and handle my job. I’ve just finished a meeting with a co-company. Sometimes it’s another work load that to have a meeting with others because it’s an unusual job after I made a plan for a workday. Now our company’s e-mail is not working properly because of the earthquake in Taiwan. It will be taken to fix working smoothly almost 3 weeks. I’m not comfortable to communicate with e-mails to overseas colleagues because it’s hardly reached. From last two weeks ago, I have to use my personal e-mail to send enquiries and instruction to them. It’s quite annoyed because they only knew my official e-mail address communicated at work, all that is not delivered to me on time, I have to resend it through personal e-mail. Clients also quite upset about late action or instruction from us. it’s not only our company’s hard situation but also all international company, especially main computer server is placed at Hong Kong, cannot work convenience.
I’m busy to make RFQ (Request For Question) from last week that customers requested us to offer lower rate than others and compared them with competitor’s quotations. When we provide attractive rates to each destination to them, the customers consider using our service for their shipments. I need to check much lower and competitive rates with several carriers and try to reduce to the customer’s satisfaction. It’s important to keep a good relationship with carrier’s person in charge of my company who gives me the freight. Because they also have several requests from other forwarders on the same issues that customers are participating RFQ to designated forwarders chosen by them.
If I have a good relationship with carriers, I can try to cut down the rates to my purpose. But it’s not quite often because carriers also have to keep their guide line. Is it complicated? Of course, the bidding makes me to get heavy workloads. After finished presenting RFQ, another things are waiting to me. Are you satisfied with your job? What kind of jobs do you have? Stephen, I love listening to music. I like all kind of music, especially rock music. I’m a big fan for Queen, Sting, Eminem, Alicia Keys and Britney. I certainly say it’s one of precious things that I bought many CDs of my favorite stars. When I was school girl, my brother played the guitar and loved listening to music more than studying hard. He listened to heavy metal music after finished class and then he changed his hair style as a rocker. Is it funny? My parents judged him because of naughty. My dad desperately brought up him until he was twenties. Now, he’s got married with his co-worker who is warm hearted and charming, and works for an IT company. He’s not played the guitar any more but he has another hobby that he likes to collect audio and very good sounded speakers. You know, it’s very expensive things to buy as a salary man. He’s addicted to buying that things as like you can’t stop drinking coffee in the morning. My sister in law is pregrant. She's going to get birth to the baby next month. I'm expecting to have 5th cousin.
I’m addicted that I cannot stop watching American TV series, 24, CSI.
My brother and his wife in Bali.
I went to Sting’s big concert in Manchester. He performed fantastic and heartbreaking stage. I was falling in love with his song while he’s singing. My seat was 5th line from stage. I could see him very closely. My favorite songs by Sting are Every breath you take by the Police, Shape of my heart, All for one, English man in New York. Who is your favorite singer?
 Sting's concert at Manchester Arena
My mom is coming tomorrow. I no longer work for the house and cook for my dad. I’m happy to escape from all the housework.
Enjoy yourself, everyone!!
posted on Wednesday, 10 January 2007 | comment on this postAn ordinary dayHello, everyone,
It’s the top of stressful yesterday. It’s just up to my emotion about my personal things. But I cannot say about that because it’s very personal.
Don’t be worry about your correction. I again promised myself that I no longer involve inside problem of mine with my blog. You know, no one could be the same emotion and feeling is changeable every moment. Now I’m better because I decided to stop thinking about old matters. I told my co-worker about my inconvenience feeling yesterday. She just listened to my thoughts of work and love why I was so depressed. I needed a person who could listen to me and she was a good listener. She said nothing for me but I felt healing my heart soon.
I’m feeling more tired as time goes to the end of week. Thanks to God for giving us the time to take a rest weekend.
I’m really appreciated all of you. Your comments of my blog give me great encouragement to enjoy writing my stories. Diema who is one of the readers my blog gave me tips to ask Stephen. I’m not a good questioner and not curious about getting friendly with unknown people. Stephen, did you read the comments of my blog from Diema? If so, why don’t you write to your answers? I have questions for you. As an English teacher you had many chances to go abroad. How many countries did you visit? Do you get in touch with any students who were learnt by you? Where is the most impressed country to you?
I’m sometimes out of control to steady my mind. I’m not easy to anger quickly but feeling depressed soon especially unexpected situations. I know, I have to get fresh air so that my feeling changes to be better. One of my friends gave me free movie tickets. I can see any movies showing now. It’s more often to book the tickets through internet in Korea. It’s much convenience because I don’t waste the time to wait on the queue at the cinema. We can’t live without inter-net. It’s a very popular way to buy anything and I can buy something through overseas sites. Which site do you mostly use? For me, I bought CDs through Amazon. The world is quite closed that we also can share our life the same time.
I’m going to the cinema to see Chinese movie, Battle of wits tonight. It’s about Chinese revolution period from BC 8 to BC 3. Korean famous movie star, Sungki Ahn is performed Hamumjung who attacked to the enemy, killed ten thousands his soldiers. I learnt Chinese history and other Asian countries when I was a high school student. Did you learn any other countries history from school? I loved learning history about mine and others. I was keen on reading history books. As I told you about New year resolutions, I want to read more books than I did before. I’m planning to read the book, Avalon chronology, written by Jean Markale and translated to Korean by Jungran Kim. Now I’m reading the book, To be happy written by Liz Hoggard. It not English version unfortunately. Of course, Stephen likes me to read more English books than Korean but I prefer Korean books to English. I’ll try to read articles and other scripts in English as he suggested. By the way, I was surprised when Stephen noted recommendations for our readers. I bought the book, Brick lane when I lived in Manchetser. I didn’t finish reading the book until now. I’ll do my best to finish it soon. I didn’t have any chances to use in English except works because Korean is my mother tongue and my environment is around Korean. After I finished the language course in the U.K, I realized my English is still not good and should be improved. I found out BBC learning language to the students when I was surfing on the web. It’ brilliant site for English learners. By chance, I took this unique opportunity to learn English again by BBC Learning English team. I specially thank your team for making the blog in English. Blogging is a very popular way to describe myself and to show photos I was taken.
Most people have their own blog one or more than three because all Korean portal sites provide the service making blog. Do you have your own blog? I recently haven’t updated it. Another famous way to show yourself is making ‘mini-homepage’ on cyworld.com in Korea, I believe Korean must have it because it’s a way to contact your friends and relatives who are far from you. I feel we live open world and share any information very soon. Think about 911, we watched these destroyed buildings on the TV the same as US. Do you afraid if you’re reached information late? To be honest, I prefer analogue to digital. Now CD Player is not use to young people, they like to listen to the music with MP3 even though CD Players just developed the end of the 20C. Everything changed very fast and disappeared quickly. Today’s information is not useless tomorrow especially IT world. When I told my friends about my dream that I like to live countryside, they hardly agree to live out of city. People afraid they live far away from the downtown. How do you feel?
PS
Stephen, your single comments are really appreciated improving my English. I like to send a very sweet candy and a chocolate to you. No kidding. But I don’t think you like to eat sweets as a child. Do you?
posted on Thursday, 11 January 2007 | comment on this postAbout korean musicStephen,
It was heavy wind and cold this morning in Korea. It’s -1 degrees.
I reckon English weather is very changeable. I could see all types of weather in a day when I lived in Manchester.
I felt you’re really warm as I read your blog. You’re also very good dad for your daughter, Lucy. I believe she’s lucky to have kind and smart dad. I’m quite jealous of her good dad. I’m sorry that your wife was died by cancer. I know it’s heavy to manage a family with single parent. I remembered that I thought about death of my parents when I was young girl under thirteen. I was afraid how I lived without my parents after they died. At that time I should enjoy playing with friends but I was philosophical and scared about life. I didn’t sleep at nights because I wanted to see and keep my parent’s live in their room. Isn’t it strange? I didn’t tell my mum what I was feeling about them. If I told her about my feeling she must be laughed. Now I don’t have such a ridiculous fear any more after I realized death is out of my control when I read the book, Anne. I was quiet and very timid girl before I went to high school. Now I still have these characters but I’m changed to be lively and cheerful. How about your daughter, Lucy? Is she complicated?
Today I want to tell you about Korean music. Of course, I like to listen to Korean music but Korean musicians are not popular with European people. I don’ know if you have heard them ever. You seem to have very young inspiration, you listen to the music, green day, scissors sister’s like that. Korean young generation likes idol group, Dongbangsinki, SS501, Super junior. I don’t like them because their music doesn’t give me any sympathy and doesn’t motivate anything. Also I hate to watch their stupid performance with lip-sync on the TV. Am I quite criticsm? I like old music like 80’s and 90’s. When I was a high school student, Taeji and boys became a brilliant pop hero. Their songs hit on the top as soon as the album was released. His impressed music was unique and sensational even he appeared on TV news at prime time. He stood up to the press at the end of 90’s because he stopped making the music and he lost his inspiration due to pressures of creation. He still has lots of crazy fans even it has past almost 10 years.
My favorite Korean pop musicians are SG wanna be, MC Mong, SPY, Lee jung. I hope you have an opportunity to listen to good Korean music through the Inter-net. I like smooth and easy songs. Sometimes I like to listen to dancing music loudly especially cleaning my room. I tried to link my favorite song on the blog but it’s not available. "> I didn’t talk to my mum last night because I came back home late. She was sleeping early because she was tired during her journey. This morning she gave me a small, beautiful pearl earring. She managed to carry two heavy luggages when she left for Seoul. My elder sister packed a lot of clothes for my youngest sister’s baby. She brings up two girls in China and some clothes are not fit for them. It’s economical that old sisters hand over the clothes to younger sisters as I grew up. My mum bought gifts for my family and her friends. I’ll see them tonight. I think she didn’t visit Forbidden city and other beautiful sites because she visited there last journey. She preferred spending the time with her grand children to sightseeing.
I’m going to go to Korean traditional architectures tomorrow because I want to show you gorgeous architectures. I believe you will be very impressed. My family is going to celebrate 100days of my youngest sister’s baby on Sunday after she’s got born. It’s traditional in Korea that parents shared foods with others for celebrating their baby’s live.
What is traditional custom do your country has?
Have a good time with your family and friends, especially Stephen, I hope you and Lucy enjoy her birthday’s party at a nice hotel then relax on the comfortable bed till awake.
posted on Friday, 12 January 2007 | comment on this postMy mum's travelHello, everyone,
I met my co-worker in the elevator this morning, she was irretated with Monday. She said she didn't like to go to work from last night. She has a Monday syndrome. Do you think so?
I relaxed at home last Saturday, I actually planed to go out to take pictures tradtional Korean architecture but it was really cold out side. I gave up it but I had some beautiful photos took them 4 years ago. Is it too old?
I read books, watched my favorite TV show, 24 and cooked fried Kimchi rice all the day. Have you eaten Kimchi ever? I like to read books with listening to smooth music. I think it’s also Stephen’s favorite thing for making convenience.
My cousin, Ho-sun called my mum last Thursday night because he missed her so much. According to my sister, he cried for my mum when he came back home from the school. As I told you before, my mum didn’t go out for sightseeing while she’s in Beijing. She was sick before she left for Beijing. She took care of her grand children and helped my elder sister to arrange her new house decorations. My mum went many Chinese cuisine restaurants and most of her visit places were beautiful and expensive restaurants. Do you like Chinese foods? When I visited Beijing last summer I ate various foods recommended by my Chinese friend. Some of them were very oily but it’s delicious for me. After ate, I had to drink a lot of tea. My mum went to a huge SPA near my sister’s house. You know, Korean like to relax at sauna but for me, I don’t like it because I can’t breathe humidity and hot at sauna properly. I prefer to be a bath at home.
I love the photos took at a Russian festival. Lucy looked like quite confused with snowman. Didn’t she? I think you bothered her to take a picture with snowman as I did it my family. I took pictures at my youngest sister’s daughter’s party last Sunday and I wanted them to pose for a picture. I needed them to upload my blog. I think you took it for the blog too. My youngest sister was married two year ago. She met her husband at work. They’re working for the Korean agriculture company. They were going out almost 2years and decided to get married. She loves her husband very much and my mum sometimes talks to her not to show her love in front of him very often. You know why? My mum thinks her husband must show his love as much as he can. It’s a man’s duty. Do you think so? Is it funny?
 My youngest sister's baby. She's 3months now.
Tradtional korean foods at a restaurant.
 My sister's wedding day
I’m going to a book shop after finished my work. Unfortunately, I’m buying a Korean book. Don’t be worry. I’ll try to read English books next time. Have you read the book, Zorba the Green by Nikos Kazantzakis? He’s absolutely brilliant and a respectful author in the world. I regretted that I didn’t read it much earlier. Zorba was very unique and keened living on liberty. I love his confessions that he’s got secret of life after he’s experienced. I was shaken with his thoughts and words on this novel. I felt I’m confidence because I realized that life is not boring and I should find anything I haven’t experienced. It’s not adventure. Just live with expectations.
posted on Monday, 15 January 2007 | comment on this postThe things what I like to show youHello, everyone,
How’re you? It’s cloudy and still cold in Korea. It was a little bit warm last night, I thought the temperature will be up tomorrow. But it’s still freezing.
My younger sister, lives with me, catch a cold from last week. Maybe it’s flu because she is really weak as like she can’t go for work today. My mum cooked a vegetable soup with rice and she only ate it. She went to the hospital again. She’s got a stomach problem a month ago and my mum worried about her health. Maybe she has to take a rest at home for a while until she’s recovered.
My mum is a housewife now. She relaxed at home after came back home from Beijing. She knows about her healthy condition more than me and I don’t need to ask her to take a rest more and more. She’s outgoing and cheerful personality. She went to her sister’s house the day after she arrived at home. she liked to give gifts for her sister. My mum has 3 sisters. The eldest sister lives in Anyang, it takes 1hour by bus from my home. She is now 70 years old. My grand parents died early that she was 15 years old. Her eldest sister took care of her as a mum after parents passed away.
I like to go the palaces, Kyung Bok kung and Chang Kyung Kung. We have the palaces in Seoul. Seoul is the capital of Korea from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The palace, Kyung Bok Kung was built on 1394 when the Joseon Dynasty established. It was fired several times by attacks and wars. It rebuilt again. There are several houses, Kings of the Joseon dynasty lived in. The dynasty period was closed after finished the Joseon dynasty. Now we don’t have the king any more.
Now nobody lives in there and it’s for tourist. Korean history remains on that palace.
The garden, Chang Kyung Kung is a beautiful and lovely place. It’s full of the flowers in the spring and trees are changed the colors to yellow and red in the autumn. It’s very impressed that white snow is on the tiled roof when you visit there in the winter.
I’m uploading the photos I took at Seoul, Bejing and Osaka. Most western people think Far East Asian cultures are similar or same but it’s not true. Each country has own precious treasures and architecture.
I visisted Forbidden CIty in Beijing in 2004.
I went to Osaka last summer and visited Osaka castle.

I took them at Kyung Bok Kung in 2003. posted on Tuesday, 16 January 2007 | comment on this postThe affairHello, Stephen,
Thank you for your comments on the photos. Actually I have a lot of photos on my computer at home. But I couldn’t upload much beautiful photos on the blog because I did it at the office. You suggested me to write about my family history on the blog. I’ll write abut it soon.
I had a dinner with my colleagues last night and we drank Soju a little, ate Sam Gyup Sal, a part of pork. Have you ever eaten? I don’t think you’ve tasted it before. I went to a meat shop to buy it in Manchester but the seller didn’t know what Sam Gyup Sal is. I tried to describe it as I know, but he didn’t understand. I took a step towards Tesco then bought a pack of pork. Sam Gyup Sal is most Korean’s favorite. It sold out very large amount in Korea according to the newspapers. There are a special recipe to roast pork in some restaurants. They soaked pork in a red wine for a week or a month before roasted it. I roasted it with the grill on the table. When it’s well-cooked, I started eating. I wrapped it with lettuce, sesame, garlic, spring onion, mixed with hot peppers. Can you imagine?
We moved to a café for having a coffee then. I prefer to drinking tea. We talked something about the affair of married couple and real love after marriage. No one has married in my group and we chatted about the other’s affair but we heard it through the grapevine. Is it rumor? The main subject of Korean TV dramas is about the affair at the prime time and housewives like to watch that TV shows after finished a dinner. A friend of mine, want to be a scripter, she said it’s already systemized by broadcasting stations that TV producers only recommand her to write the story about love and betrayal. Other subject is not accepted for TV audience according to audience rating surveys. Can you believe? A few TV drama is about medical, law, campus of Uni. Students. But the audience rating is lower than the affair. I don’t know why married couple is broken by the affair. How is it possible to love another one even if they want to keep a family? Am I conservative? Probably not, I think we have to take a responsibility for the family after married. It’s a promise with spouse and society.
What do you think about it?
Besides, one of us said, she could accept to fall in love with another man after married if it's true love. Falling in love is not easy for me because I don't open my heart to others easily. But if I realised someone loves me from his deep heart, I'll be loved. How can I know? Love is compliated and difficult. But true love is a wonderful thing.
Have a good day,
posted on Wednesday, 17 January 2007 | comment on this postMy own happinessDear Stephen,
I’m appreciated your kind comments on my blog since we started. It’s very good for me because I feel encouraged
I can’t wait for tomorrow because I’m exhausted at work. Friday is coming but tomorrow is another horrible day for works. I’m desperately facing a difficult situation that my manager wanted me to perform more works. What a pity.
I change my concern to the blog from my works. I feel better soon. I know BBC English learners are waiting for update of my blog.
Now I make a list of my emotions as below.
The things make me happy.
1)Eating delicious ice cream. I love Hagaan-Dazs. It’s really sweet and delicious. Especially I want to eat ice cream when I feel lonely. I ate ice cream after finished the works last week and then I felt stomach problem soon. It’s a bad experience though. But I love eating them mostly.
2)Watching video or DVD at home. It’s better to see the movies at the cinema but for me, sometimes it’s much comfortable. Because I don’t need to get dressed.
3)Writing e-mails to old friends. Most of my friends are married and some of them live abroad. The best one lives in US and another one is in Japan. I called them sometimes and wrote an e-mail to them frequently. While I’m reading e-mail from a friend I’m feeling like she’s with me. I began to write e-mail to an English friend. I haven't seen him since I left for Seoul. He's real mancunian. I could hardly understand what he said at first. He's patience and nice because he spoke cleary. My English is not good but he tried to understand me and helped me to cheer up for learning English. Now he's looking for a job since graduated university.
4)Drinking wine with my family. I rarely drink with my mum because she didn’t like to drink alcohol. She only drinks alcohol at New year day and Christmas like special day. For me, I drank three times per a week when I was twenties. I sometimes behaved stupidly. We talked about the family’s stuffs while we’re drinking. She showed me her feeling loyal and dedicated for my family.
5)Buying clothes and brand new items. Of course, It’s woman’s favorite. If I had a lot of money, I would buy everything what I want to. It’s everyone’s hope. But I know, I have to save money first than buy something what I want. I made a shopping list and the maximum limit of money before go on a shopping. I prefer buying expensive one to cheaper several clothes. My sister is different. She only bought expensive one with big money. I fancy expensive things but I know, I have to keep the maximum limit.
6)Reading comments on my blog. It's instant things happend in my life. I haven't experienced that global friends even we haven't seen ever, posted their comments after read my story. You don't know how I nice surprised.
Stephen, Thank you so much for giving me a tip to write.
Now it's your turn. Tell me what makes you happy.
Have a good time!! posted on Thursday, 18 January 2007 | comment on this postOld friendsHello, Stephen,
How are you today?
It’s steady cold, below 5 degrees. The weather in UK is quite changeable as you started writing your blog. However, it’s not changeable in here. We are in totally different weather. As you wrote about global warming problem, it’s not too cold as I’ve experienced terrible freezing weather.
I called a friend who named Haeng-ja, has been living in US since she’s married . She’s a dental technician. We know each other from a high school. We met 2-3 times per a week before I left for UK. She met her husband when I was in Manchester. I was glad to hear from her love but I felt quite sad. Because I was feeling I lost a good friend. She’s very friendly and caring. Even though we’re far from each other I like to talk to her more than others. I like to see old friends. All of them are precious. They know about me better than my family. I met two friends who named Kyung and Eun-mi. We finished the same elementary school. But we didn’t know about each other at that time. We started getting much friendly when we met at the church again. We worked for the Sunday school at the church as a teacher. After finished it, we got together for a bible study. We have different characters but our relationship is stronger than any. We ate Dukboki at the restaurant. Dukboki doesn’t have any oil. It boiled with various vegetables and rice cake with red pepper sauce on the pot. It’s spicy. We moved to TIRADENTES, a Brazilian café at the airport terminal station. I never have been there. It’s the first branch in Korea. We usually go to have coffee to STARBUCKS, Coffee Bean, Pascucci, Dunkin Donuts. The international brands are very popular place to meet. TIRADENTES is quite small and has nice smell and excellent quality. It’s quite packed inside like other places. The café is designed orange color the interior. It’s one of my favorite colors. Maybe I feel comfortable because of it. We’ll be there again and it’s a new place to see us. We don’t meet quite often because both are married. After marriage, their life style is changed. They cook dishes for the family and do the housework as a housewife even they are paid by a company.
Korean married woman manage to do the housework after get back home from work. Of course, the husbands help them to share the housework but mostly it’s a woman’s job.
I spent a good time to talk about something we didn’t share for a long time.
What will you on weekend? Have a good weekend.
I like to show a beautiful snowing day in Korea four years ago. I went to the hill with my mum to take pictures in the snow. It's not happend yet this year. I'm waiting for snowing.
posted on Friday, 19 January 2007 | comment on this postAn ordinary lifeDear Stephen,
I had a great weekend. I relaxed with my mum at home on Saturday. But she made a noisy waking me up in the morning. She did the housework as usual. But she did more works because I didn’t wash bedclothes while she’s away. I woke up in the morning as washing machine was loud. My room is next to the washing room. It’s quite old that my mum bought it at least 7 years ago. It’s getting out of order because it began to sound noisy 3 months ago. My mum doesn’t want to buy new one before it no longer work. She will probably fix it again even if it will be stopped working. She doesn’t spend money to buy new one. She’s staying with my youngest sister’s house for next 5days because my sister needs baby sitter. My sister’s daughter is almost 4 months and she is too small to send a nursery. It’s a social problem that we don’t have sufficient social welfare system, especially for married woman who works for a company. Most companies don’t have their own a nursery school for employee’s children even the company’s employees are over then 100 people. Because that is not company’s duty, building a nursery school for them. My mum takes quite heavy job to care of her grand daughter. How about UK? Is there sufficient system for small kids? These days I lost my taste. I don’t know why I hesitated to eat anything. I ate small brunch with my sister on Saturday morning. I didn’t eat anything until at night. My mum suggested me to have boiled lettuces with rice but I wouldn’t it. I liked to eat fried chicken suddenly and my mum called to deliver it at a chicken store. But I just ate 2 pieces of chicken with beer. I fell asleep quickly then. I woke up 11 PM again and I thought it might be had a sleeping drug. I watched American TV show, 24, season 2 on the internet. Have you seen it? Now it’s showing season, 6 in US. I haven’t seen it yet. I’m excited to watch the show. My mum sadly watched me as I was absorbed in the TV show. She said you seem to lose your way except watching TV. Maybe it’s right but it’s really interesting and Kiefer is fantastic actor.
By the way, when you started your blog with the weather I just read it’s typical English weather. But Saturday morning, I watched west Europe’s terrible storm on the TV news. It’s hasn’t have such a big storm for last 16 years. I’m sorry to hear about that. I hope everything will be fixed soon.
I’ve got home right now. I started writing it after finished working at the office. My colleagues were out of office very quick when it’s time to 6:00 PM. I’m listening to easy listening pops on the radio. One thing that I like listening the guitars pieces, Asturias by Albeniz. A friend recommended me to listen to the music last year. He wanted to be played the piece by the piano. Regarding The observer’s script, I’m not a typical person as it mentioned. Of course, I’m not English but life is almost the same whether you live in UK or I live in Korea. I examined how I live long 5 years ago. It’s about the stress rate at works and life. It’s was a terrible result because I will be lived only 72 years according to it. I’m the shortest life in my circle. Everybody told me I had to come down and needed to think not seriously. I don’t care because I still have over 40 years. It’s enough. Am I silly?
I’m quite sad when I read your blog that you will be ended it. Do you stop it because you go to Kilimanjaro? I hope you come here again when you finished traveling. You’re a very good teacher for me and everyone who learns English on BBC.
I went to the cinema to see the movie, little Ms. Sunshine last night. It’s about an extraordinary American family. The member of the family has each different character and they finally understood and accepted differences when it’s ended. I love this dramatic and human story. Each characters had own problems and they found out the family’s warm love. I bet you love it as well.
Have a good time!!
posted on Monday, 22 January 2007 | comment on this postThe memory in ManchesterNow I like to show the photos I took in Manchester during I studied.
I studied phrasal verb at the class. There are huge words in the area. We couldn’t get a good score when we examined it. A friend who is from Switzerland decided to buy the book, phrasal verb. We almost exhausted learning about phrasal verb because it hardly memorized. But the class was fun. The teacher, Catherine is very nice and funny. She’s energetic, cheerful and charming. She always taught us very exciting and full of laugh.
We went to a restaurant after finished a class. A friend who is from Mexico finished her course and we celebrated she finally passed the exam.
 Wales
I went to Wales with Maggie. The weather was not fine but sometimes the sunshine was from could sky. She and I had a great time. We were walking along the shore while we were talking about our future. She want to be an editor of magazine. Now she works for a correspondence of Daily telegraph in Bejing.
I lived with a Greek family then an English family. Olga is very kind and helpful. When I arrived at the house, she made me comfortable like I was at home. She helped me to learn English hard that she told me her experience how to study abroad. Alex, her son, is quite easygoing. He only eat 5 things and don’t eat fruits. He liked to play the guitar in his room and I was the only one audience for me.
I moved to Maria’s house and her son, Ciro, Italian-English, is very tall. He’s only 15years old but his tall is almost 180 cm. He’s childish but caring of his cat. He feed them every day and played.
posted on Tuesday, 23 January 2007 | comment on this postWorkingHello, everyone,
It’s 12:10AM. I just got home right now. I washed my face and I felt very tired. I haven’t had the time to read comments from the blog readers today. I worked hard then fully exhausted working. I liked to have a coffee with my colleague but she had to work overtime because she’s under huge jobs. Today everyone in the office was not good because of middle of week, very stressed day. A Indian colleague came to the office on his business trip. He’s staying in Korea until this Friday. Now we started handling a huge business with LG. We made a shipping procedure and found out a good carrier for the business. I had a meeting with him for an hour in the morning then checked the freight and spaces with the carrier. This business is important both of us, India and Korea. We have to try to provide the sufficient service to our client. Sometimes I’m annoyed at work because the manager is depends on me that he ordered me to check the status of the shipment and find a good carrier to use the shipment and negotiate the rate with carriers. I need to concentrate on it until I succeed to handle shipments. I know it’s my duty. Never mind.
I like to show my dream house today. It’s a traditional Korean house. When I was a child, I grew up at the countryside. I love my hometown and I thank to God for having an enjoyable childhood at there. I liked lying on the floor in the spring and summer. The gentle wind came to my shoulder and the small birds sang softly. There is a main floored room in the traditional house. It doesn’t have windows and wall, only columns. Look at the photos. I’m sure that the house is very convenience and echo-friendly. I haven’t visited my hometown since I was 18 years old. My family moved to Seoul when I was 7 years old. I didn’t like to go to Seoul but my dad decided to move. I took a train for the first time. I thought it’s amazing. I didn’t have friends when I came to Seoul. I just hang out with my sisters and brother. My elder sister took are of her younger sisters very much because my mum was busy to work. She’s clever and intelligent and my parent’s hope. My mum wanted me to resemble her good characters but I’m not that girl. But I didn’t make problems to bring up by my parents.
Anyway, it’s the adorable memory for me.
Now I have to go bed. It’s too late night.
Have a good day,

posted on Wednesday, 24 January 2007 | comment on this postA love storyDear Stephen,
According to the TV news, it will be a big snow in the middle area of Korea and very cold below -10 degrees today. But it’s not true. I woke up in the morning as I still wanted keeping asleep. I wore several clothes to keep warm because of the cold weather. I felt quite hot in the subway and the office today. The weather forecast is lie. It’s quite often happened that weather forecasts make wrong. I’m going to the cinema with a friend tomorrow. I’m going to see ‘Déjà vu’ starred by Denzel Washington. Have you seen it? A friend works for the internet portal site, design-jungle. She’s an editor. It’s a famous site for designers. I’m not familiar with very stylish things. I like only simple things that my room is white wallpaper and no photo frames. Do you like decorating your house? We’re going to have a brunch at noon in the COEX mall then see the movie. After that, We’ll go to a café, maybe, Tiradentes.
I started a Yoga class this week. Wow. When it’s almost finished a class, the teacher light off and we closed eyes. She told us keep silence and don’t think anything just keep the breath. I remembered my first love at that time. it’s silly. I don’t know why he appeared my thoughts. It’s about my first love. I met him at the riverside when I was 19 years old. he came alone. I sat down near riverside and he was not far from me. I saw him first and retuned my face to the river again. He watched me and came next to me. He came here to feel fresh. I was in there like him. We started talking about each other’s life. We’re very young and easy to open heart to others. We became a friend not love. We phoned everyday and met once a week. He was a student but I had a part time job. I didn’t go to university after finished high school. He was surprised but understood enough because he didn’t like to study his subject, physical science. He was clever and smart. I liked his good characters. He has unique idea that nobody wondered. He’s tall and good looking. I became love him as time goes by but I couldn’t show my feeling to him because I didn’t want to break the friendship with him. I didn’t make sure that he loved me. A friend advised me that I had to hide my feeling in front of him. We went to army service for 2years then. I visited his camp to see him when he wanted to see me. After graduated from university, he studied the master’s course. We were still a good friend. Almost 7 years later, I didn’t feel love but just liked to meet him as a friend. I wanted to keep in touch with him forever. But he turned to love me. It worked very differently. I didn’t know how I solved it. Of course, I jut left it alone. He didn’t call my any more. We didn’t see for almost 2 years. Maybe it’s closed the relationship. One day, I wanted him to come to my office but he didn’t receive the call. He left for Vancouver. He studied the theological academy. He sometimes told me he would learn about that. When I decided to study abroad a friend asked me to go Vancouver not other. But I believed if we’re fate we could meet again even if the reality was far. But it’s fail. He’s got married another woman. It’s fate that he didn’t come back to me. It’s over. I sometimes wondered if he’s alright and happy. The past is sometimes very beautiful in my mind like this.
It’s a weekend. Stephen,
Have a good time and take care.
posted on Friday, 26 January 2007 | comment on this postA typical MondayHello, Stephen,
How’s a weekend? I know, you blogged on Sunday. You’re really dedicated.
How a beautiful house!! Thank you for posting your house. I think it’s a typical English house. I didn’t visit many English houses when I lived in Manchester. A friend lived with an English family. Her landlord invited me to have a dinner. That house is very similar with yours. It’s decorated white furniture. I thought English liked white things. do you? I love various treasures from many countries. It’s very unique and keeping a good memory at there. Actually I didn’t buy souvenir and took the photos I visited. Now I realized it’s a way to keep a good memory. I’ll buy it further. Maybe I’ll go to USA to see my friend this summer. I first have to get visa. It’s not easy to get tourist visa for USA. US government is very strict to permit it. I needs full documents they required. It’s 11PM in Korea. I just came back home right now. I’ve finished washing dishes. I brought my lunch box today. It’s sometimes annoyed that I have think about lunch menu. It’s better to bring it. My mum doesn’t pack it for me because I don’t like to disturb. But it’s annoyed I have to pack it by myself. I had a dinner with my colleagues. We had fried chicken with beer. We drank 3 pints and big dishes. I’m full. I don’t like to eat too much at evening because I can’t sleep well. My stomach doesn’t feel comfortable. Do you like to have a big dinner? A friend came back to Seoul. He went to Vancouver for learning handicraft guitars. He played a guitar on his band several years. He made a concert at downtown music clubs. I haven’t been there unfortunately. But I listened to his performance by records. It’s not published just private recording. He finished a course at the academy. He wants to work at New York. I hope we get a job in there.
Also an English friend has an interview today in Manchester. It’s the first opportunity to have a permanent job. He’s exciting about it. What the important things at the interview in UK?
I hope he’s got a good job what he wants to work.
Sorry I feel so tired. I have to finish writing right now.
Have a good day,
posted on Monday, 29 January 2007 | comment on this postTuesdayHello, everyone,
How are you today? It’s mild and warm. The weather is find and sunny. It was wrong information that the weather would be very cold last weekend by the weather forecast center. Many people called to them claiming wrong information. Finally broadcasting stations were seriously excused yesterday that forecast representative just estimated the current weather’s change. But people still think it was non-sense.
I know, I have 4 more days for blogging. It’s a good opportunity to see the reader’s comments. I love reading their comments. It inspired me to have another story let to know about Korean and me.
It’s a presidential election at the end of this year. Now a few candidates are promoting their purpose and a political direction. The interior party is almost destroyed by difference between the president and the member of the party. Korean political parties renewed by the election. But most members are still reminded that means the parties just changed name and don’t change a political purpose that to be elected. It’s silly that fortuneteller’s prescience is no one to be president among candidates until now. One person will arise the presidential candidate in a sudden but nobody knows when it’s finished.
There are many candidates, like to respond Korean future and common people’s satisfaction. I don’t believe politician’s being sensational and exaggerated expressions to be elected. Each party’s candidates have to win the competition of the party first and the winner is for the presidential candidate.
I’m going to see the movie, Borat : Cultural Learnings of America for make benefit Glorious Nation of Kazahstan, tomorrow. Have you seen it? It’s last day showing the film. Do you read critical columns abut movies on the newspapers before you’re going to the cinema?
It’s changed the weather very cold below -5 degrees since evening. It’s much colder tomorrow. I should wear several clothes keeping warm. It’s last day on January, 2007. I remember my new year’s resolutions that I wanted learning the guitar. It will be started two week later. I’m exciting to learn it.
Take care,

How’s today?
I’m still at the office. I just finished the work right now. I’m waiting for my colleague, not finished working. She’s going to stop it at 9PM because she’s almost exhausted. Maybe she has to come to the office earlier tomorrow.
I was surprised when I read the teacher blog today. I’m always very interested in the comments from the readers of the blog. You thought I didn’t concerned about it. It’s not ture. I always felt very warm and cheerful while I read the comments from all readers. It makes me feel better and encouraged. I love reading their comments. I didn’t express what I’m feeling frequently. But I hope everyone knows it’s very impressed. I sometimes missed reading comments because I haven’t had enough time. It’s pity that I’m not a freelancer who can be concentrated on it. I occupied a formal job from 9AM to 6PM. I waste time almost 2hours on the street rush hour. But now I printed out the blog’s contents including reader’s comments, I bring it on my hands everyday. I sometimes imagined that we gain all together if it’s possible. It’s a fantastic party because we just read each other’s comments and don’t know who look like. We all use different mother tongue and different culture and we only have a common that we love learning English on the BBC. I hope every readers like to see each other somewhere.
Today you wrote about different taps in the bathroom and you said it’s European style. I don’t think it’s European style. My uncle is a Korean ambassador of France, I stayed with his family when I visited Paris. His house doesn’t have separate taps. And also I visited Italy, there is no separate taps in the bathroom as well. Do you think it’s European style? I don’t think so.
I only hate one thing that is racism. I’m against racism. The world contains very different nations and each nation has their own culture and customs. I have to admit that I belong to different culture. If I don’t understand it I’m not a good person who is tolerated. I think it’s very important to understand other’s culture prior to justice. I may not understand other’s culture but I should tolerate any other’s thing in case I’m an educational person.
That is one of my dreams that I want to go to Lake Baikal someday. I saw the pictures of it when I was middle school girl. I shocked and very impressed. My friends didn’t know that huge lake. I was sad because I couldn’t talk about my dreams at that time. a friend knows about my dreams now. He also like to go there like me. I don’t know whether we go there together or not.
It’s very cold today as I told you yesterday. It’s not snowing yet. I want to see big snowing at the end of the winter.
Now I read the teacher’s blog today. You’re very kind teacher as I thought every time.
Take care,
