July 2007BBC Learning EnglishDear all, the 2nd July is with us already - how quickly time flies when you are having fun. But the fun must stop because, sadly, we have to wave our hands in a goodbye motion and say farewell to Naheed.
Naheed, it has been another fascinating month on the blog, I'm glad you have enjoyed your time, we have enjoyed reading your blogs and seeing your photos - they make make me want to put my trainers back on and go travelling again, although this time I'd have to use the blogcycle!!
Best wishes for the future.
Even as I wipe the tears from my eyes, a smile crosses my lips because I also have the pleasure to welcome this month's blogger - Duong Thanh Ha from Vietnam.
Hello and good luck. As usual, I'll say no more at this stage.
Paul posted on Monday, 02 July 2007 | comment on this postHi everybody!^_^Dear all,
It's really a great pleasure for me to be one of the student bloggers of BBC Learning English site. Actually, I just knew BBC Learning English a short time ago when I visited my teacher's blog (I will tell you more about him later) but I was deeply impressed by your wonderful writings here. I thought it would be a great chance for me to improve my English, so I decided to join the Blog competition... And great news came... Now I'M HERE with youuuuuu!
Firstly, let me introduce something about myself... A young and "lovely" girl from Vietnam - a nice country with "S" Shape in Asia. My name is Duong Thanh Ha, Duong is my family name, and Ha is my first name. In Vietnam, we usually call others by using their first name, but our first name is put in the last ^^ So please call me Ha... Here is a picture of me when I defended my Bachelor's thesis last year.
I graduated from Foreign Trade University in Vietnam in 2006 and I am now working for ANZ Banking Group Ltd. (Vietnam). I love my job here but I still want to improve myself more so that I can go abroad to pursue my Master in the near future. I can speak 3 languages, Vietnamese (of course), English and Chinese. I have learnt English when I was a very small child (about 7 years old) till now and I spent 5 years in the university to study Chinese as well. I love learning foreign languages as they help me to understand more about the countries, people and their cultures.
Oaaaa... I have so many things to tell so I don't know where to start, what to blog first... It would be so great if all of you support me in the next 30 days of the month by reading and posting comments on my blogs. Hope that July will be a great month for me to improve my English by sharing with friends in BBC Learning English about me myself, my life, my work, my feelings, my friends, my family, my colleagues, my organization, my country...
It's enough for my first entry ^^. Next entry will be about my lovely teacher who brings me to BBC Learning English site... C u tomorrow!!!
Regards,
Ha posted on Monday, 02 July 2007 | comment on this postTotally exhausted after a busy day!Hi all,
It's now 10p.m in Vietnam now... And I just finished my dinner an hour ago... Today I had to do so many deals at work so I stayed late in my office. When I arrived home, I feel so tired (yawn!) but It makes me feel quite refreshed reading my new lovely teacher, Jo and all of you guys' comments.
Jo, thank you so much for your entry. You seemed to read my blog very carefully... I really appreciate it. I know that you didn't comment too much on my first entry... But next time, please find out more and more mistakes. It's the best way for me to correct my writing so that I can brush up my English, right? Actually, I did look up the dictionary the word "defend". I knew it had some problems but just didn't know to use which word. Sometimes I find difficulties in expressing very simple ideas. And I think this is a problem for all foreign language learners. Hope that I can overcome this problem soon. I have learnt English since I was very small, but you know, I didn't use any English during my 4 years at university as we spoke Vietnamese and Chinese only. I am eager to finish all of the homework you give me, but I am very afraid of getting bad marks :-). You did have a really nice trip to Normandy. I wish I could have chance to go to Europe in the soonest time because I like travelling and exploring new places so much! I also want to find some scholarships in UK to study for Master... But don't know whether I have opportunities or not....
Today I am so happy to have a pretty teacher... Jo, hope you will help me more in the next 30 days. And as promised, I will tell you the story about one of the teachers that I ever respected most, who brought me to BBC Learning English, who brought me the passion for studying English. He was my English teacher for a very short time in a small English center more than 10 years ago. I was the smallest student in the class at that time (a 7 or 8 year-old girl I think). And you know, most of the students in that class were much more older than me and they went there to study English for their career or whatever. I just studied at that center because it was very near my house. Although I am the smallest, however I am not the worst student in that class of course ^_^. We had 2 teachers teaching us at that time as I remembered. One of them named Binh. He was very handsome with very smart face, he had wonderful voice and wonderful hand writing as well (you even could not recognise whether the papers he wrote were hand writing or typing). That was my first impression on him. He taught us for a very short time (about 1 month) then he said goodbye to us because he had to go to Poland to pursue his master. I still remembered during that 1 month I had studied a lot from him. At the last day before he went to Poland, he said goodbye to all of us and asked all of us to leave the names, addresses and telephone numbers for him. After he went to Poland, he also sent me one postcard on the National Women day! A really lovely and thoughtful teacher! I missed him so much at that time.
Then my family moved to another address so we lost contact for more than 10 years. But during those 10 years, I always remembered I'd ever had a wonderful teacher like him. I always talked to myself that I must study as well as him and be successful in the future. He made me try hard to study to achieve today's results. Recently, when I graduated from the university with very good grade, I just thought of him, didn't know where he was and what he was doing at that moment... I didn't have his address any more as 10 years had passed... Just a crazy idea... Find him in the internet... But how can? by which channel? Just thought... and thought. I tried the skype to find the person whose name was like him... but too many, couldn't know who and who... Maybe he didn't use Skype...hopeless... Another day, just thought of him again... And I decided to type his name in Google to see how the results were... Oh, the first one appreared on the screen was the name of one Vietnamese famous football player... :-P At that time, I felt so sad as I thought I could not use this way to find him... However, I still tried to access some of the other sites in Google... Just see one PhD of Chemist who was working in Munich University in Germany... After 10 years, I didn't remember well how he looked like... "Could it happen that he moved from Poland to Germany??? Could it happen that this guy was him???..." So many thoughts arised in my small head... "Why don't you try to write this guy an email? It costs nothing, right? And you still have a very little hope to find your teacher..." I decided to write this man an email explaining the reason why I wrote such an email to him and said sorry if he was not the one I was looking for...
BUT CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT IT WAS REALLY HIM... When I read this reply, I just wanted to shout loudly... I believe that in this world there are fates and invisible connection between people... We contacted each other again and I am so proud to tell my teacher that I am not that small child anymore, I already grew up and still keep improving my English...
Oa.... my story seems a little bit long and aren't you fed up with reading it??? I hope you aren't and keep writing comments to my entry.
It's time for me to go to bed now as I have to get up early tomorrow morning for a new busy working day!!!
But before sleeping, I must finish the last part of my entry... THANK ALL OF YOU FOR POSTING COMMENTS TO MY BLOG... Here are some of my answers to them (sorry if I miss somebody... but I will try to answer you all)

posted on Tuesday, 03 July 2007 | comment on this postVietnamese food @_@Dear Jo and all friends,
I am very interested in reading your entry and comments. That is really good food for me after a tired working day. Jo, thank you so much for your support in my English. Actually, I am thinking of studying for a Master's in the UK. I really want to find a scholarship so that I can go there to study soon. Because I enjoy working in banking industry very much, so I want to study for a Master's in Banking and Finance. Could anyone help me to find some information about good scholarships in UK? I know most of the scholarships require at least 2 years of experience. Therefore I still try my best to study and work hard to gain more experience so that I can make my dream come true soon. Anyway, I just want to study as soon as possible.
To all friends, thank you again for keep reading my entry. As usual, some of my replies to your comments now:
@Sara: I enjoy reading your comment so much, so keep writing to me as long as you can ^_^.
@Pauline&Ahmed: Thank you so much for showing me my mistakes. I'll try to correct them all and brush up my English.
@Ana Paula: You are so great for reading all of my entries and keep encouraging me. I really want to know more about u :-P
@Douglas Santos&Stevie Boy: In Vietnam now there are more and more people studying Chinese because Chinese is our neighbour country, and there are more and more Chinese companies invest in Vietnam. It's not very diffcult to study, except from the complicated writing.
@Seomon: Thanks for such beautiful words about me!
@Anne: Yes, he is also very interested in keeping contact. He also told me that when he came back to Vietnam last time, he tried to find us according to the telephone numbers we gave him, but he couldn't get in touch with any of us. He still remembered me as the youngest student in the class, but I guess he can't remember my face :-)
@Adek: Let's wait for another chance to meet another Vietnamese girl ^_^
@Mauricio: I'll tell him soon about this blog as a gift for him :)
@Wisarut: I can write Chinese and I am also interested in calligraphy. But I haven't written Chinese for nearly one year, and I forget a lot.
@Van, Mai, Mai Anh: Great to hear from Vietnamese friends here.
@All: Thanks once more for your nice comments and looking forward to read more and more....
And now, another part, actually the main part of today's entry... I'll tell you something about Vietnamese food. Vietnam has the S shape and the country is divided into 3 main parts: The North, the Middle and the South. And each area has its own traditional food and the taste is not the same. In the North we prefer to eat food with little sugar and salt, but Southern people prefer to eat sweet food, nearly all kinds of food have sweet taste. I was born in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam which locates in the North. And Hanoi has so many great kinds of food for you to try.
I like to eat rice noodle very much, and there are so many dishes made from rice noodle. First one is Bun Cha (Rice noodle and Grilled meat):
The pork meat to make "Bun Cha" and the sauce are very important. You eat noodle, meat and raw vegetables together... This is my favourite dish!!!
The second one I'd like to introduce is "Pho", another kind of noodle, eat together with beef, chicken meat, egg...
We often eat "Pho" in breakfast. And in Vietnam, there are even a few people who can't start a day without eating one bowl of "Pho" in breakfast :-). Have any of you ever heard of "Pho 24" - very famous brand of Pho under the structure of franchising shop.
La Vong Fish is also very famous, it is one of the traditional food of Hanoi. Every tourist come here need to try La Vong Fish. It's a kind of roasted fished eat with rice noodle ^_^ and shrimp sause (this has very strong smell but many peole like it).
The next one is the traditional food which we eat on New Year only, it's "Chung Cake". The cake is made of rice, pork and green peas.
When New Year nearly comes, we often prepare and cook these cakes together, as it takes the whole day to wrap and boil these cakes. Many Vietnames who are abroad usually miss the taste of this kind of cake so much, especially when they have to greet the New Year in another country without family and the atmosphere of New Year holiday in Vietnam.
The last but not least that I want to introduce to you is "Noodle Roll"
This is fried beef and raw vegetables wrapped by rice noodle. This is the new dish in Vietnam for about 6,7 years recently but many people like it very much because it is easy to make and suits most people's taste.
Haizzz, it must take me days and days to talk about Vietnamese food. Actually I don't know to choose which one to introduce to you. You know, each country has their own kinds of food... and I feel so difficult to find the words that can express my ideas to tell you how delicious they are!!! You'd better take a trip to Vietnam, and I will be a tour guide to show you around and try every kind of food here ^_^
Hope you will enjoy my entry today. And now, it's time for sleeping... Zzzzzzzz
G9 to you all!

(All photos in this entry are collected from the Internet) posted on Thursday, 05 July 2007 | comment on this postHomework :(Hi all,
It has been a great weekend... I visited some of my cousins and spent one day... sleeping as well. But this morning, when I woke up, I felt so sad because I had to go to work... And after a hard day of working, I visited the website and ... HOMEWORK is waiting there... Jo, I am sorry if I can't do it well because I am so tired and sleepy now....
Oops, I am drinking a cup of tea, reading your comments and... thinking of how to do the homework ^_^... I am going to do it right now...
It's great to read about traffic in UK and traffic in Vietnam is very special... Many foreigners are impressed by traffic in Vietnam, especially in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Many of us go to work by motorbikes. In big cities, each family must have at least 2 or 3 motorbikes.^_^ So when you come to Vietnam, you can see in rush hours, all the streets are full of motorbikes...
It's Hanoi (Photo collected from Internet)Ho Chi Minh City (Photo collected from Internet)Some years later, buses are becoming more and more popular, but I myself rarely go by bus as I find it very inconvenient. The roads in Hanoi are very small, it's better if you have a motorbike, and you can go everywhere you like ^_^. Recently, the number of personal cars in big cities in Vietnam are also increasing. But many people still go to work by motorbike and use their cars at weekends as motorbike is more convenient here.
Well, just some words about the traffic in Vietnam. Now... it's time for homework!
Hi, Panther... You are really a handsome chap ^_^ I've spent some minutes looking at you... But you give me such a tough homework... Anyway, I'll try to finish it :P
Let the cat out of the bag: Are you going to tell us something secret about Jo? ^_^ Well, come on :P Has the cat got the tongue?: To tell the truth about somebody... Tell Panther the truth whether he is handsome or not?
I'm the cat's whiskers: I'm the most handsome cat in the world????
The cat who got the cream: The very pleasant and happy Panther, rite?
Pussyfooting it all around: To go around, just watching others without any action :-P
Oops, it's done. I don't know whether my understanding is correct or not. Pls help me to check it. Thank you very much.
Now it's time for me to go to bed. Good nite and sweet dreams to all of you!
Love,
Ha posted on Monday, 09 July 2007 | comment on this postWhat do you think about LOVE?Hi all,
How have you been?
I have just finished my dinner and start to blog now. In some of my recent entries, I have introduced to you something about Vietnam, and in today's entry, I'll let the cat out of the bag and tell you more about myself.
Well, I have many friends, some of them were my classmates in secondary school and high school, some of them were friends in the university and some are my colleagues at the moment... I am very happy to have such friends like them. You know, whenever you have problems, it's great if you have family and friends beside you. I have there closest friends who were my classmates in elementary and secondary school. And now, we are still very very good friends. Though each of us has grown up, we still keep our long-lasting friendship until now and forever. Two of them have gone abroad to study, one is in France and one is in Germany. I miss them very much. We often get in touch via Internet and maybe in some years later, all of us will meet in Vietnam. I intend to go to Europe to visit them in the soonest time.
That's about friends, and I'm very happy if some of you here will become my close friends in the future ^_^. And now, if I ask you a question "What is love?", will you be able to answer me?
For me, it is a really tough question... And I don't know what's the exact answer, maybe noone knows :) Sometimes I feel very upset about love. It's so hard to find a person who understands you, who can share with you sadness and happiness... But I believe in fate. I think sooner or later, one will meet the person who belongs to them... That's the way I use to encourage myself because until now I haven't found that person yet hahaha ^_^. I used to fall in love with one guy, a handsome guy I think... It's a very sweet and romantic love... We met when we were in the air ^_^ (on my flight for business trip) ... And I couldn't imagine that we met again on the plane... and that was the day we said goodbye to each other... Well, sad story... but it happened. And I must accept the fact that we don't belong to each other... Another guy who belongs to me is waiting for me somewhere ^_^ God bless me! :). If I met him someday, it would be a wonderful day... And I'm longing for that day ^_^....
Jo, you ask if I had a million pounds, what would I do? Oops, if I had a million pounds, I would spend a little visiting Europe to see my friends and invite them to travel with me around the world, then I would spend the rest of that amount investing in the stock market in Vietnam (as it is growing very fast in Vietnam now)... As a result, I would have more and more money... oaaa, don't know what I should do next :))) Could you please give me some advice?!?!...
That's enough for today. Such a lazy cat I am, I want to sleep...
Warm regards to Jo and all friends,
Ha
P/S: This Friday will be a very special day for me, can you guess...? posted on Wednesday, 11 July 2007 | comment on this postHappy birthday to me ^_^Hi Jo and friends there,
I just came back from my birthday party with some friends in the university. Actually it was not a party. My birthday was just the reason for us to gather. You know, since we graduated from university, each one has had their own job and we don't have chance to meet as often as when we were studying.
Tonight we had dinner together, then went to a coffee shop, talk and talk about how we have been recently, and asked if anyone was going to get married ^_^ (I'm so afraid of thisssss). The last part of the party ended up with our karaoke show ^_^. Do you often go to karaoke bar in your country? In Vietnam, friends often gather and sing together... That's great! It helps us to refresh ourselves.
Normally in Vietnam, we just give others some flowers and small gifts in their birthday with wonderful wishes to them. Birthday cakes with candles become more and more popular in Vietnam. And I think this culture is brought from Western countries. More and more cake shops are opened in Vietnam with very good business... And I also love eating cakes very much. :) For young people, birthday is a chance for us to meet each other. The older we are, the more we forget about our birthday. Many business men (women) even forget their birthday because they are too busy with their business, solving some stuff...
Well, I am now older... And I'm afraid of getting old :). I'd love to be young all the time... Anyway, I am just 23 years old, young enough to make all my dreams come true, rite?
I'll spend this weekend writing an entry introducing more about Vietnam for you, I promise. And now, it's time for me to sleep.
Good nite n sweet dreams to all!
Ha posted on Friday, 13 July 2007 | comment on this postVietnam - A beautiful countryHi friends,
How have you spent your weekend? It was very sunny all day so I just stayed at home and sleep... :)
As promised, this entry will bring you something about Vietnam, my country. Vietnam is the country with the "S" Shape in Asia. Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, the political, cultural center of the country. Besides, Ho Chi Minh City is the economics center of the country. There are some big cities such as Hanoi, Haiphong, Quangninh, Danang, Nhatrang, Cantho, Ho Chi Minh city...
There are many famous landscapes in Vietnam, some have been recognized by UNESCO and it makes tourism in Vietnam more and more develop. Hereunder are some pictures of Vietnam which I find from the Internet for you:
The first one is Hoan Kiem Lake, which is in the center of Hanoi. And our bank is located in one corner of Hoan Kiem Lake...
This is the place where I work - ANZ Vietnam, just beside the Hoan Kiem Lake
One famous landscape in the north is Halong Bay, which is recognized by UNESCO:
Another place you should go when you visit Vietnam is Sapa Town, which is a valley amoung the mountains with beautiful scene and wonderful climate. I have been to Sapa once and I like this place so much:
Those are some places in the North. Here comes some pictures of the Middle of Vietnam:
Hoi An - The old town
Hue - The city with old imperial palace:
Danang with Han Bridge (in the New Year celebration) - Danang is the economics, political and cultural center of the Middle Vietnam:
Nha Trang Beach- One of the most beautiful beach in Vietnam:
Dalat City - A little bit like Sapa, the city with great climate and romantic sceneries. In Vietnam, couples often go there for honeymoon. Dalat is the place of flowers, flowers from Dalat are exported to many countries.
Then we will go to the South of Vietnam with the picture of Ben Thanh Market - which locates in the center of Ho Chi Minh City:
This is the photograph of me taken last year during my business trip to HCM City
One of the very famous landscapes in the north is the Phu Quoc Island with beautiful beaches and resorts... A good address for your summer:
Well, there are still many good places for you to visit in Vietnam. But I hope that I just give you the overview of my beautiful country. Hope to welcome some of you to my country soon!
And now, good nite to you. A nice week is coming.
Cheers,
Ha posted on Sunday, 15 July 2007 | comment on this postSorry friends ...Hallo Jo&friends........!!!
First of all, I would like to say sorry that I am too busy to blog everyday. I have been too busy at work recently, at the end of the day, I feel so exhausted and I can't concentrate on blogging. I am getting sick at the moment... Headache...
Jo, sorry that I haven't finished your task of Cockney Rhyming Slang yet, and I am doing it right now. And sorry again because you are right, I don't have much time to concentrate on blogging so... I know I have made a lot of mistakes... And I will try to be careful in using tenses in the future. Thank you so much for your advice.
Let's give myself a go... I will correct the tenses for some of the sentences you found in my last blog:
1) It was very sunny all day so I just stayed at home and _slept_.
2) Tourism in Vietnam _is developing_ more and more.
3) But I hope that I _have just shown_ you an overview of my beautiful country.
Well, I don't know whether they are correct or not because my loaf of bread is not working now :))
And now, my second task is to rewrite Jo's story... I must say that Cockney Rhyming Slang is so difficult for foreigners like us... But I will try to study them to make my English more professional ^_^
And now is the story which has been rewritten:
I rushed down the STAIRS(apples and pears). The dog and bone was ringing.
‘Hello?’ I asked.
‘Where are you, you idiot?’
It was the WIFE (trouble and strife).
‘You were supposed to be at the church an hour ago!’
I’d forgotten about the wedding! Oops!
‘I don’t BELIEVE (Adam and Eve) it! For God’s sake, can’t you use your HEAD (loaf) for once? Put your SUIT (whistle and flute) on and get here straight away!’
Haha, I find these Cockney Rhyming Slang words so interesting, I will try to use it more often...
Jo, your village is so beautiful, I wish I had a chance to go there one day and visit you :)
Now some minutes to answer your comments:
Ana Paula: Thank you for reading my blog very often... Wish you a nice day!
Kürşad KÜLTÜR: Thank you, please come and visit Vietnam one day!
Sarah: We have four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. And Vietnam has the tropical climate... Welcome you to Vietnam:)
Sherzod: English is becoming more and more popular in Vietnam. More and more people find the importance of English and study it. Some years later, English has been taught from elementary school.
Hai Van: Sorry, just my small mistake... I've never been to Phu Quoc yet, but I know it's great!
Tran Duc: Thank you so much for reading my entry, happy to hear from a Vietnamese... We are proud of Vietnam, rite?
Fernando: Thank you for visiting Vietnam... How was your honey moon? Where did you go? I also wish I would visit Spain soon.
Wisarut: Thanks for keep writing comments for every entry of mine. I really appreciate that!
Naheed: I am trying to blog as well as you did... But I find it so difficult... You did a good job!!!
Jill Huang: China is very near Vietnam... So please visit Vietnam... I have been to China but not Beijing and I am thinking of taking a short Chinese course in Beijing...
Nazneen Sayyed: Thank you for reading and giving me advice... Hope to hear from you.
Ahmed: Our people are working hard to improve our standard of living... But you know there are both rich and poor people. We eat rice, meat, vegetables... nothing very particular I think...
Bich Nga: It's Phuong Vi in summer... Hope you will go to Hanoi soon...
...
All friends, thanks for commenting for my entry, and I am very happy that you have enjoyed my entry about Vietnam... I am thinking of what to blog at the weekend? Could you please give me some ideas?
And now I am going to have a cup of Rosie Lee and sleep...
Good nite!

posted on Thursday, 19 July 2007 | comment on this postA new week is coming!!!Hallooooo ^_______^,
Jo, I found that there are still some problems with the blogging system, your recent 2 entries didn't appear normally! :((((
It's now 11pm in Vietnam... I have just had 2 days sleeping & relaxing... But it is still not enough... hahaha... Am I too greedy? T__T
How are you friends? I haven't seen your comments for a long time... Maybe it is because the blogging system has been a little bit Pete Tong ... I am longing for your comments... I love reading them so much...
Jo, I will try to shorten my entry and pay more attention to grammar. I Adam and Eve that I can improve it soon. I have to write emails everyday for my job using English and I know how to use each tense quite well, but as you know, we often need to response very quickly, therefore we sometimes don't care much about grammar... I know it is a bad habit keeping writing that way... So I promise I will try to correct it. It's also a big problem for the English using in Vietnamese offices now... People just try to make others understand what they mean and don't care about grammar at all... ^___^
Well, a busy week is coming... Wish all of you a new week full of energy, happiness&success!
See ya!
Good nite!

I have just came back home from a birthday party of my friends. How are you? I hope you are still reading my entries recently. Sorry that I can't blog everyday because sometimes I come back home so late that I only want to sleep... And of course I can't blog while I'm working...
Today I would like to discuss with you about music... "Let the music heal your soul" And I like listening to music very much. I like Pop music and some rock ballad as well. Ah, I am also fond of listening to Chinese musics as I studied Chinese before. Some lyrics can tell what I'm thinking... Some melodies can make me feel better...
I am listening to the song "November rain" at the moment... - A great song by Gun n Roses... hmm... great... I like sad music more than strong music... But sometimes when I am in good mood, I like dance music ^_^... I like Cha cha cha - Broken Heart :))
Hey friends, tell me more about your hobby, what do you like to do in your free time?
And now, hi Socks, my new friend... Thank you for giving me some English tips used at work. I have known some of these... And there are also some tips we often use:
FYI: For your information
FYA: For your action
GAP: Go ahead please
...
Just remember some... We use so many tips at work that I felt very confused at the beginning, but I am used to using it now :)
Well, Socks, I think you should dress attractively, smile at him to win his heart, as I noticed your picture, you are Miss Beauty-Cat ^_^ :)) Don't try to beat him any more...

Monu from India: Hi, sorry if I miss any of your comments. How are you? Have a nice day friend!
Satya from India: Sorry... From today I will try to blog a little bit everyday... Because August is coming and I am afraid of saying goodbye to all of you, friends, It would be so sad... Satya, the education system in Vietnam is quite similar to some countries, I think. We have 5 years for elementary school, 4 years for secondary school and 3 years for high school. Then you have to take the exam for university or college... University entrance exam is very tough... Summer is the season for students to take this kind of exam. They have just taken this exam in the beginning of July. And now some universities start to announce the results... All students who took part in this exam are waiting everyday to know their result... I already experienced this feeling when I took part in the entrance exam for university... You should be very worried but so happy when you know the good result... It's the great prize for your efforts during the last 12 years of studying...
Wang from China: Hi friend, hope you will drop by often... I think this is a good way of studying English...
...
Very late now... Good nite to you all.
Jo, how are you... Hope to see you again in the next blog.
Bye for now.
Ha posted on Wednesday, 25 July 2007 | comment on this postNice weekendHi Jo & friends,
What time is it now in your country? I am in a good mood now, because it is Friday night, I can stay up a little bit later... And tomorrow I don't have to go to work... Whenever Friday comes, it seems that I feel a bit happier... ^_^
Jo, sorry that I haven't done your homework yet then you already gave us the answer ;)... August is coming, and I promise that I will try my best to improve my writing even when I am not the blogger anymore.
But one more thing I need your advice... I want to speak English more fluently and professionally... What should I do? A big problem to foreigners when studying foreign languages is speaking. How to express your ideas immediately by using the correct words, right pronunciation and good voice... Oh I find it very hard...
In Vietnam we also eat wasabi... It has very strong taste that I rarely eat... It would be terrible if you swallowed a spoon of wasabi...aaaaaaaaaa... But men like to eat wasabi than women in Vietnam... We often eat seafood with wasabi.
Jo, I won't let the cat out of the bag... Happy birthday to Richard... I really hope that I could eat your cake one day :)
Wish all of you a nice weekend...
Ha posted on Friday, 27 July 2007 | comment on this postLast but not least...Hi Jo & all friends,
Today will be my last time to blog here... I regret that I didn't have enough time to blog more about myself and my country. Terribly sorry for that...
First of all, I would like to thank you Jo, you have been my great teacher for the last 1 month, even when I was such a lazy student ^_^. Once again, thank you so much for that, wish you lucky, happy & successful...
BBC Learning English staff, thank you so much for your support... You all have been working so hard... I still remember the problem of the blogging system when I & Jo couldn't post the entries... I believe that you will make this site more and more interesting, useful for all foreigners who want to study English... (actually it is great now). :)
All friends, I will miss all of you so much. Reading your comments, learning about your country have been my favourite for the last one month... I really want to get in touch with all of you and practice English more... Warm wishes to all of you... And hope that you&I can make our English better and better... I will drop by and see all of you here, ok?
This will be my last entry here but I will keep blogging on my own site as well as listening, reading, speaking & writing English everyday... I will go to Sapa for a summer trip this weekend to relax myself... Hope it will be great ... ^_^
And now a picture of me (when I went to Danang last year) instead of saying goodbye to you (I'm afraid of saying goodbye...) Forget me not!
 Cheers,

"We're all going on a summer holiday, no more worries for a week or two..." No, no we're not. We, here in the BBC, and all of you out there, must stay and read and comment and do all the things that we normally do even as we say goodbye and wish wonderful summer holidays to our July blogger, Ha.
Ha, thanks for your time and effort and beautiful, beautiful photographs - were they all yours? Amazing! Again I feel the urge to travel. I'll have to stop reading, that's the only solution. But first I have to finish writing.
After the sad farewells I hear the cheering bells as we welcome yet another student to the blog on the 1st August. This student is from Japan and her name is Yumiko Iwamoto.
What more can I say? Nothing! Yumiko will do a much better job of introducing herself than I could. Instead, I'm going to go for a lie down.
See you in a month.
Paul
