Totally exhausted after a busy day!
Hi all,
It's now 10p.m in Vietnam now... And I just finished my dinner an hour ago... Today I had to do so many deals at work so I stayed late in my office. When I arrived home, I feel so tired (yawn!) but It makes me feel quite refreshed reading my new lovely teacher, Jo and all of you guys' comments.
Jo, thank you so much for your entry. You seemed to read my blog very carefully... I really appreciate it. I know that you didn't comment too much on my first entry... But next time, please find out more and more mistakes. It's the best way for me to correct my writing so that I can brush up my English, right? Actually, I did look up the dictionary the word "defend". I knew it had some problems but just didn't know to use which word. Sometimes I find difficulties in expressing very simple ideas. And I think this is a problem for all foreign language learners. Hope that I can overcome this problem soon. I have learnt English since I was very small, but you know, I didn't use any English during my 4 years at university as we spoke Vietnamese and Chinese only. I am eager to finish all of the homework you give me, but I am very afraid of getting bad marks :-). You did have a really nice trip to Normandy. I wish I could have chance to go to Europe in the soonest time because I like travelling and exploring new places so much! I also want to find some scholarships in UK to study for Master... But don't know whether I have opportunities or not....
Today I am so happy to have a pretty teacher... Jo, hope you will help me more in the next 30 days. And as promised, I will tell you the story about one of the teachers that I ever respected most, who brought me to BBC Learning English, who brought me the passion for studying English. He was my English teacher for a very short time in a small English center more than 10 years ago. I was the smallest student in the class at that time (a 7 or 8 year-old girl I think). And you know, most of the students in that class were much more older than me and they went there to study English for their career or whatever. I just studied at that center because it was very near my house. Although I am the smallest, however I am not the worst student in that class of course ^_^. We had 2 teachers teaching us at that time as I remembered. One of them named Binh. He was very handsome with very smart face, he had wonderful voice and wonderful hand writing as well (you even could not recognise whether the papers he wrote were hand writing or typing). That was my first impression on him. He taught us for a very short time (about 1 month) then he said goodbye to us because he had to go to Poland to pursue his master. I still remembered during that 1 month I had studied a lot from him. At the last day before he went to Poland, he said goodbye to all of us and asked all of us to leave the names, addresses and telephone numbers for him. After he went to Poland, he also sent me one postcard on the National Women day! A really lovely and thoughtful teacher! I missed him so much at that time.
Then my family moved to another address so we lost contact for more than 10 years. But during those 10 years, I always remembered I'd ever had a wonderful teacher like him. I always talked to myself that I must study as well as him and be successful in the future. He made me try hard to study to achieve today's results. Recently, when I graduated from the university with very good grade, I just thought of him, didn't know where he was and what he was doing at that moment... I didn't have his address any more as 10 years had passed... Just a crazy idea... Find him in the internet... But how can? by which channel? Just thought... and thought. I tried the skype to find the person whose name was like him... but too many, couldn't know who and who... Maybe he didn't use Skype...hopeless... Another day, just thought of him again... And I decided to type his name in Google to see how the results were... Oh, the first one appreared on the screen was the name of one Vietnamese famous football player... :-P At that time, I felt so sad as I thought I could not use this way to find him... However, I still tried to access some of the other sites in Google... Just see one PhD of Chemist who was working in Munich University in Germany... After 10 years, I didn't remember well how he looked like... "Could it happen that he moved from Poland to Germany??? Could it happen that this guy was him???..." So many thoughts arised in my small head... "Why don't you try to write this guy an email? It costs nothing, right? And you still have a very little hope to find your teacher..." I decided to write this man an email explaining the reason why I wrote such an email to him and said sorry if he was not the one I was looking for...
BUT CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT IT WAS REALLY HIM... When I read this reply, I just wanted to shout loudly... I believe that in this world there are fates and invisible connection between people... We contacted each other again and I am so proud to tell my teacher that I am not that small child anymore, I already grew up and still keep improving my English...
Oa.... my story seems a little bit long and aren't you fed up with reading it??? I hope you aren't and keep writing comments to my entry.
It's time for me to go to bed now as I have to get up early tomorrow morning for a new busy working day!!!

Hellow Ha, may be you are sleeping now! It is 08:50 p.m. here in K.S.A.(while I am writing) your story with your teacher is very interesting. I have a similar one! to tell the truth, when I first learnt English in school, I hated this language because our teacher made fun of our mistakes and we felt embarrssed. We decided not to participate with her any more. So, our language didn't improve that time! after 2 year, the teacher changed and came a lovely one who completely chaneged our idea about English. She accepted our mistakes and correct them. She encouraged us to use English more and more. See how teachers can affect students!!! Thank you for reading my long comment!!!!!!!
You should rather say ,,When I arrived home, I FELT very tired", not FEEL. I think that's all. But please, don't be angry with me :). Reading your blog, I found out you are a very nice person.
Hj Ha, I am very impressed by your blogs. Your english is very professional. And your story about your teacher is very touching. I also believe that there is fate and invisible connection between people. I wish you good luck for your future! I have some contact with Vietnames in my job. My impression of Vietnames is very good because they are very friendly and also work very hard. I also learn a lot from your blog, thank you. Hope I will know more about your culture, life, people from your blogs.
Dear Ha, What an amazing story! I think that coincidences like this always happen for some reason. They're like signals sent to lighten the street we're walking towards! I wish you to achieve all of your goals, Regards, Fulvio
Hi Ha ! Your story about your English teacher is very nice and moving. It remembers me a personal one a bit different. I had an History, Art and Literature teacher who during her lessons gave us a lot of useful information about the subjects. She used to bring her own and personal slides collection in order we had a wider knowledge. At that time we, I, did not appreciate her effort. We were young, fourteen-fifteen years old. I still remember today some of her explanations about some painters style and I only realise now, how passionate she was and how she intended to gave us the spark that open our minds to the matter. I regret not having been able to thank her, I can only hope she understood we were too young.
Hello Ha!!! Of course, I wasn´t fed up reading your blog! On the contrary Ha, I really enjoyed reading it! Moreover, I was very glad to see that your story had a happy end, and you´ve found your teacher after so many years. That´s fantastic! I´ll try to send my comments on your entries as much as I can( actually, I´m always here,:-) haha). So little by little, we´ll know each other better, ok? Good night and good luck with your busy day tommorrow. Ana Paula.
Hey Ha, You were right, your story was long but I have to say that I could not stop reading it! I had a similar situation but with a friend so I tried to find her also in skype, google and so on :D but I couldn't find her so I'm so glad that you finally did it. Till next entry! X
Hello Ha, I hope you had a good rest. It is all one to me, when I was 10 years-old I had my first contact with English Language. And I continue study because my teacher in that time tell me that English is the World Language, So I try to brush up my English everyday. Let me do a question, In Vietnam everybody talk Chinese too? It´s a complicated language isn´t? I would like to know about Religions in Vietnam. See you and good luck.
Thank you for sharing your unusual, and interesting experience. I've also come across something unbelievable on the internet. I bumped into someone who is a student of my old friend on Skype. It's all random. I mean we live in different cities .:) I was wondering how widely Mandarian is being spoken in your country? Good luck!
Hi, Ha, Thanks for sharing the story with us. I like it. The World is big, but sometimes seems small. Sometimes I meet old friends unexpected. Maybe it is fate.
Hello Ha. Pleased to meet you as Vietnamese on the blog site. The story you posted like drama I saw on the stage last weekend. It's so interesting. Hope to read more your next entries. Have a good day!
I have to say i am so pleased right now, because i see my comment could be the first today. To realize and exchange with the beautiful girl from Vietnam, my near great neighbor, whatever i see and hear is a terrific thing.Otherwise, just now, i've comment on your yeaterday's blog, but i don't know why it cann't appear, this is my heart-hurt.well, so i hope this would be seen, thanks, deer friend, and other friends.
Oh my. This is such a lovely story. I know what it means to refind someone you've thought to be lost for a long time. Guess it means lot to you that he replied. I mean, after all it means he's also interested in keeping the contact right? There still remains one question: Did he remember you? I know I'm really curious, but I love the story....
Hi Ha :-) Your story about you and your English teacher is really fascinating, I liked it very much. From the way you write I can guess you are a nice and very open-hearted person. You are clever at writing and I'm sure you would make a very good writer. Thanks for helping me with the translation of the Vietnamese expression, I hope it's the correct one. I often think about the girl; you're right, I should have told her about my feelings. Good luck, Adek.
Hello,Ha, You know, I forgot that I reading the real story in the middle, it seems like I reading some novel or something like that.It was so exiting. Put some fotos of Vietnam on your blog, please.
Hello and Welcome Ha! I have enjoyed very much reading your history. I found an old friend with the help of the web too. Could you tell us more about your studies and your work? It's seems very interesting My best wishes
Hello HA. I find your blog very fascinating, especially the story of your English teacher. I'm only at the beginning of learning English, but I think there are some mistakes I would like to find out with you if you don't mind. I also appeal to the teacher to join in for help. 1)" It's now 10 p.m in Vietnam now". Only one "now". For "pm" I found it in an oxford dictionary without a dot. 2) You said: "I've learnt English since I was very small...", and "I was the smallest student in the class." I'm sure you don't mean small in size or form, but you meant "young". And also you were a pupil and not yet a student at the age of 7 or 8. 3) Some articles are missing: eg: " a chance", " a very smart face", " a wonderful voice", etc... 4)That was the first impressin "of" him and not on him. 5)The first one (that or which) appeard on the screen was the name of "a" (instead of one). I think most of us are learners, so we have to correct each other in order to go ahead. At last, please check thoroughly my propositions of correction and let me know yours. Good luck. From Ahmed ELMANSOUR, Casablanca - Morocco.
Hello Ha. I didn't learn English when I was at school. At that time in Spain they did't teach english at school, instead I studied "but a didn't learnt" French. Then when I went to the university I tried to learn English, but it didn't work for me. What I'm trying to say is that I've never been a good student in foreign languages. Then many, many years after, I decided: "I have to learn English", and started studying by myself. Finally, one day searching on the internet I found the BBC Learning English site and since then I don't feel that I'm alone with my learning. I really like learning English, despite the fact that I don't need it in the present. But What will be, will be in the future? Best wishes.
Hi Ha, your story is very interesting. You're right when you think there is fate. When I was a child I always want to know what happen to me in the future. But now I don;t think so.
Hello Ha, what a nice story, the one about your teacher. I believe it was really fate that led you to him. I have tried to locate people using the internet before, but I was always unsuccessful. I think it's quite a hard thing to do. If you did it, I think it means something. It's so good to get in touch with people from our past, isn't it? I hope you two have a chance to meet again. Perhaps we'll have a chance to see a comment from him here in the blog system. Have you told him about the blog yet? I'm sure he'll be very pleased to participate. Nice talking to you again. See you.
Hi, Ha, it is so nice to read your touching story. You know, sometimes things which we can't control we could say that is a fate. But as your story, it is because you are a very passionate girl, you know, there is a saying ---- Where there is a will, there is a way. You will make everything done if you keep the way. All my best wishes.

Hello! This is the first time I have ever blogged on BBC English Learning Website. Accidentally, I found out your blog. The story about your English Teacher is really interesting and surprising. I like it a lot. What a coinincidence! Your story is somehow as the same as mine. I used to have an English teacher who I have admired a lot. However, I have lost contact with him. I have tried to find him by Google but I haven't had any exact result. The thing is different from your story: you have found your teacher.
so, very good story about your teacher. as I remember your english is very good. thank you
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
