Daniilidou's rise into the world's top 20 has been incredible.

Coming from a country not known for its tennis prowess, the 20-year-old was virtually unknown before last season.

But in June, employing an effective attacking game, Daniilidou collected her first WTA Tour title with consecutive wins over Amelie Mauresmo, Justine Henin-Hardenne and Elena Dementieva on 's-Hertogenbosch's grass.

She followed that with a first Grand Slam quarter-final at Wimbledon and continued her progress this year with her second title - this time on Auckland's hard courts.

Her net-rushing game loses much of its effectiveness on clay and last year she reached the French Open second round before falling to a below-par Kim Clijsters in two tiebreak sets.
