Get to know Sharon

Sharon works as a diversity activist for Galway One World Centre and has done for thirteen years. She runs a night once a month called Place to Be, which welcomes poets and artists. Part of her role as a diversity activist sees her dealing with issues of racism with community organisations, helping people who feel excluded. Not having any family or knowing her heritage, Sharon isn’t sure where she gets her musicality from and only developed her voice in her mid-twenties.
