Christina Matovu

Christina started singing in church when she was a child, so gospel is her home. She’s been singing professionally for six years, and is in the London Community Gospel Choir. She firmly believes that music is a place where she can show her true self and also a place where she is most vulnerable. Her biggest musical influence is her big brother Douglas, who used to be in bands when she was growing up.

Weirdest food you have eaten? “Grasshoppers”

If you could invent any musical gadget, what would it be and why? “A gadget that can cure loss of voice, so that I will never have to give up doing what I love!”

Most embarrassing moment: “My wrap skirt fell down without me noticing. All I remember is my mother charging towards me in despair - we were at a wedding you see, LOL.”
