After winning the French Open in 1998 and briefly reaching the top of the world rankings the following year, Moya suffered with back trouble that hampered his career for two years.
It was a hard struggle back, but Moya re-established himself as a major force in the game last year, winning four ATP titles and returning to the world's top 10.
Moya has continued his resurgence this year, winning in Barcelona and Buenos Aires, and losing out to Andre Agassi in the final of the Nasdaq in Miami.
His recent form has slipped slightly and he fell to a surprise defeat at the hands of his 16 year old protege Rafael Nadal in Hamburg.
He has also not always produced his best form in Grand Slams despite a final appearance in Australia along with the title at Roland Garros five years ago.
But if his game clicks in Paris, he has a real chance of crowning his comeback with a second Grand Slam title.
