Suzie moved to Shieldinch to be with son Robbie after the breakdown of her marriage and soon became embroiled in his life. She refused to believe her son had a drug addiction until it was too late and she discovered him comatose from an overdose. Robbie survived but from this point on Suzie mollycoddled her son, refusing to leave him alone. Thanks to her help, Robbie got back on his feet quickly and was offered a once in a lifetime job opportunity – styling hair for Steps. Despite how difficult it was to say goodbye, Suzie set her son off on his new adventure.

Suzie acquired a job as a receptionist in the Health Centre; largely because she loves a nosey into other people’s problems. She made friends with Maggie McLean and was a vital support to Maggie as she underwent her liver transplant, even offering to donate her own liver. After a disastrous relationship with Dougie Patterson, who scammed her out of money, Suzie has been taking in lodgers in a bid for company. With Bernadette O’Hara and Nicole Brodie as the latest additions to her household, Suzie’s life in Shieldinch certainly won’t be quiet!
