Stevie O’Hara

Stevie O’Hara is a hedonistic thrill-seeker, who works hard and plays hard.

He’s two-faced and devious, but sharp as a button. He views people as pawns on a chess board. Stevie can be cruel - like a cat that plays with its prey, but he can also be kind… to the right the person. He’s earned everything he has through hard graft and perseverance. He is secretive and has a strong sense of self-preservation.

Stevie was convicted of drug dealing after his mum Scarlett shopped him to the police, believing it was the only way to get her son off drugs. Prison was rough for Stevie. He was bullied and beaten as other inmates suspected him of being a grass. It saw him attacked with a dirty needle and Stevie contracted HIV. He spent several years in prison, leaving him plenty of time to build a grudge...

He took revenge on his mother by framing her as a drug dealer and having her sent to prison, but Stevie eventually realised the error of his ways and repented. With a little help from Gabriel Brodie, Stevie saw Scarlett released from jail.

But it wasn’t until recently that Stevie finally came full circle, forcing his nephew Callum to take responsibility for causing the explosion that killed his aunt Theresa. His own role in initially protecting the lad meant he was facing possible jail time, the mere thought of which caused panic attacks. It also put the kibosh on his budding relationship with Dougie’s daughter (and lawyer) Poppy – to the point that she’s sabotaged his hearing and effectively ensured time in prison.

Stevie and Poppy managed to work through all this and now they are Shieldinch’s most sorted couple. With Stevie running the Two Jailbirds and Poppy’s legal practice doing well, it seems like nothing can stop these young lovers.
