The Division Three side survived mounting pressure in the second half after going 2-0 ahead by the break. Winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce put the home side in front after seeing an initial effort rebound kindly off the post, allowing him a second attempt. And soon after, substitute John Martin hooked a cross back into the goalmouth for Lee Thorpe to head home the second. Rangers replied after 71 minutes when Andy Thomson scored from the penalty spot after Richard Langley had been brought down. But Fletcher scored what proved to be the winner in the 76th minute, and Kevin Gallen's late strike proved nothing more than a consolation. Leyton Orient: Morris, Joseph, Smith, McGhee, Harris, Hutchings, Jones, Brazier, Campbell-Ryce, Thorpe, Fletcher. Subs: Barrett, Nugent, Watts, Barnard, Martin. QPR: Digby, Forbes, Palmer, Carlisle, Shittu, Rose, Langley, Paquette, Williams, Connolly, Thomson. Subs: Gallen, Doudou, Murphy, Oli, Daly. Referee: K Hill (Hertfordshire) |
