Daniel Kajmakoski (F.Y.R. Macedonia): 'Autumn Leaves'
Writer: Joacim Persson
Daniel Kajmakoski was one of this year’s first participants to be announced for Eurovision after winning one of F.Y.R. Macedonia’s biggest music festivals, The Skopje Festival, used as the country’s national selection.
The Eurovision Song Contest has always been a fascinating event for me, because through music it unites people but at the same time shows the diversity of nationsDaniel Kajmakoski
31-year-old Daniel is a Macedonian-born pop and rock singer, composer, songwriter, guitar and piano player who lives in Vienna, where he moved with his family at the age of six. His very first Eurovision connection is that he was named after Daniel Popovic, who represented Yugoslavia at the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest.
After a host of appearances in talent shows across Austria, Macedonia, and Bulgaria, Daniel auditioned for X Factor Adria in 2013 and amazed both the jury and the audience with his unique performances. The song he recorded for the We’ll Be World Champions movie soundtrack, topped the MTV Adria chart for weeks. He’ll be performing for F.Y.R. Macedonia in his adopted city of Vienna.
