Formed in 2009, Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät (PKN) are a four-piece punk band. They make no secret of the fact that all members of the band have certain learning difficulties.
We have released a dozen of records. We have toured and played gigs around the worldPKN
Pertti Kurikka, guitarist and front man, writes the lyrics and composes the music with vocalist Kari Aalto The other two members of the band are bassist Sami Helle and drummer Toni Välitalo.
The band achieved cult status with their first demo ‘Kallioon', and have since released seven EPs, two singles and two albums. In May 2015 the band will release a new album ‘The Best of Greatest Hits’ which includes all their recordings to date.
PKN are also popular outside Finland and they have toured in several countries including the US, UK, Germany, Norway, Canada and the Netherlands. In 2012 the band were a subject of an award-winning Finnish documentary, Kovasikajuttu (The Punk Syndrome).
