Molly Sterling (Ireland): 'Playing With Numbers'

Writers: Greg French & Molly Sterling

Youngest ever Irish entrant, 17-year-old Molly Sterling is a self-taught singer and musician from County Tipperary, after winning RTÉ’s national final Eurosong, she will represent her country in the contest with the song ‘Playing With Numbers’. Molly now lives in Dublin and cites her musical influences as Stevie Nicks, Hozier, Lana Del Ray and Beyonce. She and songwriter/producer Greg French co-wrote ‘Playing With Numbers’ as part of her upcoming album. The song was written about the risks people take every day in love and in life, and the experiences of taking the road less travelled.

I have a donkey at home in Tipp who’s 50 years old. Mick the donkey. That’s pretty impressive, I guess.

Outside of music, Molly is a proficient kickboxer, owns a donkey called Mick and is obsessed with honey, often going through up to five jars in one week. Molly has put her heart on her sleeve and is gambling on ‘Playing With Numbers’ as the song that will win the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland.
