Chosen by French broadcaster, France 2, to participate in Eurovision 2016, Amir attributes his ‘generous Mediterranean voice’ to a multicultural background - born in France but brought up in Israel, his father is Tunisian and his mother is Moroccan-Spanish.
Amir first came to public attention as a finalist in The Voice, leaving a career as a dental surgeon in Tel Aviv to pursue his musical ambitions.
After releasing an album, Amir is now focused on his Eurovision journey. His entry ‘J’ai cherché’ is sung in French, but the chorus is in English.
Amir says, “I wanted to write and send a message in a language that everyone can understand’.
