What she’s having
Dressing down today. Had to be smart for a dinner yesterday (though I was still less smart than everyone else.) So to compensate, I shall wear my Good Morning Sunday pyjamas all day, topped off with my Des Carrington ‘Hot Rockin’ dressing gown.

Dolly’s upside down cakes
Phew! Wednesday reached, well done everyone. Have a treat (mine is a slice of rye bread made with onion marmalade….crazily good if you like that kind of thing). Last night a trip to the Costa Book Awards to applaud (as it turned out) Frances Hardinge and her book The Lie Tree win the top prize.
Drama baby
A January Tuesday is always a challenge but we’ll get there. Almost light by 5pm, noticed it Sunday as we drove back home. It lifts the spirits that's what it does! To start the show in daylight is a wonderful thing (I am easily pleased) and we can measure our cheerfulness by the day.

Coffee house again. Very few oddballs, mostly decent upstanding citizens (like me). Up and in for a chat with top actor chap Mark Ruffalo (NO spellcheck, not buffalo). His new movie Spotlight is up for best picture Oscar and he's up for best supporting actor so he's probably quite chipper...
