Sad news about Gene Wilder, what a fine comedy actor he was. Young Frankenstein was always my favourite-he and Marty Feldman shared so many great scenes. I interviewed him in 2008 (I think) and remember thinking that almost everything he said was funny....

Well hey. Can’t say this is my favourite day, way too many nerves. Most of us remember the O Level, GCSE, Standard moment when the letter arrives with, so it appears, your future inside. Or you went to your school and leapt into the air for a fetching photo with your glamorous friends. Blimey.
I could be wrong I could be right
Here we go then, lovely Wednesday in these parts. Back door open, washing in the garden, and the smell of the dead rats under the floorboards has subsided. Ok the freezer packed up overnight but we’ve got a few hours to consume lots of peas, ice cream and year old pitta bread.

Sunny and heating up here. This August Bank Holiday (if you have one) looks like being unusual in that it will be warm and not all hideous. Even on Monday. Early days maybe but that's how it’s looking…
