A January Tuesday is always a challenge but we’ll get there. Almost light by 5pm, noticed it Sunday as we drove back home. It lifts the spirits that's what it does! To start the show in daylight is a wonderful thing (I am easily pleased) and we can measure our cheerfulness by the day.
Yesterday’s confession about the Indentic-hit Quiz was a corker-we really enjoyed that. Some of the little sketches we did ran for WEEKS! My favourite was acting out some submarine action for Life in the Faslane. It’s the type of quiz that has been killed by social media-you could never do it again. Like the mystery voice idea that John Dunn ran for so many years, if you are all sharing your ideas all the time, nothing stays a secret for long. But a lovely story last night and the fact that it was in memory of the confessor’s husband gave it a powerful kick at the end.
Today’s show has comedian Mark Steel after 6 talking about his new show where he talks of discovering who his birth mother and father were. It is a captivating show and you can hear from him after 6.
And there’s a new Beatrix Potter on the way! The Tale of Kitty-in Boots has been discovered, originally sent to the publisher in 1914. It is about a cat who leads a secret double life. Wearing the boots etc. So LEADING A DOUBLE LIFE oldies sounds good to me
