Balloon Fiesta
This weekend is the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. I went to my local park to watch the balloon lift this morning.
It's always a great spectacle and this photo doesn't really do it justice. I'll try and get something better when they go up again this evening. You can also watch a BBC produced video here.
There's also going to be a fly-past by the amazing Red Arrows. They do what you might call aerial acrobatics at incredible speed. I'm really looking forward to it.
Vocabulary
balloon lift - technical term to describe mass ascent of hot-air balloons
spectacle - something to see, impressive or remarkable
do justice - give a fair representation
fly-past - when military aircraft fly low in a display

From what I know about the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, balloon rides are also arranged for those who have a head for heights. I believe an aerial view of Bristol and its surroundings is no less thrilling than the flying lighthouses, the Night Glow put to music or the death-defying feats of the Red Arrows. The grand airscape gives you a real feel of England! Of course. finding your way to the car park and driving out of it may be kind of difficult but it’s nothing compared to the pleasure you get from the Balloon Fiesta.
Hello Kieran! The ballons are very beautiful and colouful. It must be wonderful to see all these balloons up in the air. Have a nice weekend, Ana Paula.

Hello again Kieran! After seeing the BBC balloons video I´ve come across with a very entertaining program at Bristol Radio, The Late Show presented by David Sheppard. I reckon you´ve already heard it. I´m a bit lost ´cause the presenter is using some words that I´m not so familiar with, but I´m trying to look up on my online dictionary and till now it´s working pretty well :-). Bye for now, Ana Paula.

Here in Brazil we have a balloon festival just like that. I'm not sure where is the location. Nice photo too.
Hi Kieran, It is a marvellous entertainment. I bet that doing such public activity breaks the daily routine of the life. I agree with you that such image didn't do justice for the fiest. However, I am wondering of the purpose of such activity and does it take place annually in Bristol, Kieran? I look forward to hearing from you. Bes wishes, Mohammed
Hi Kieran, really wonderful spectacle. It seems much LPG fuel is consumed to make balloon fully swollen and flyable. How much is being charged from a customer for a round. Wish you a happy & safe ballooning. Thanks
