From flu friend to flu victim!
So sorry to hear that you are now a flu victim, rather than a flu friend, Jihad!
Hope you get well soon….
Your photos are great! Thank you so much – they’re just what I was hoping for. It’s lovely to see your Mum and Dad too. They must be very proud that you are continuing their tradition of helping people stay healthy.
Your pharmacy has a huge amount of stock; record-keeping must be a challenge, especially if you get new stock in every day. You work long hours too, but I’m glad to see that you manage to fit in some TV watching!
Reading your post, I noticed the many excellent examples of collocation*, for example:
• to catch flu
• to take some/a photo(s)
• to be interested to see something
• to have my/a/our/your morning tea break
• a cup of tea with milk (and sugar)
Here is a little challenge for you (clue: some of your original choices of preposition were correct, others weren’t…). Choose one of the prepositions in brackets:
I have never been good (in/on/at/for) cleaning my room and making it tidy, and it was hard at first to do that in the pharmacy. (By/at/on/for/over) time, the whole task has become easier.
During this time, I have to deal (with/on/up/at) the new drugs coming to the pharmacy. I arrange them in categories; write (down/on/over/by) their expiry date in the records, put the price labels (in/on/at/for), then put them (in/on/up/at) the shelves.
Now, to relax you after a hard day’s work, here is my favourite ever song.
Tamanna Phir Machal Jaaye
It’s not in English I’m afraid! I first heard this song more than twenty years ago in India, where I was teaching English and music (very easy-to-play piano and school choir-type songs) at a girls’ boarding school*.
Do you have a favourite song, or genre* of music?
OK, hope you’re feeling better soon. Thanks again for the fabulous photos!
Rachel
* collocation = regularly co-occurring nouns, adjectives, verbs, prepositions or adverbs.
* boarding school = a school where pupils live, like Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books!
* genre = style, category or type (especially of music, literature or other work of art).

Hi Rachel, I am very happy to know that you worked in India. Where did you work in India, which state/city ? curious to know. With best wishes from sreenadh.T
Thanks for the prepositions topic, and the song! Honestly, the song nearly made me fall asleep while I was doing the tricky challenge of prepositions. You know when I was in my twenties I loved listening to songs with strong beats I could dance to. But I very often find myself listening to gentle and soothing music or songs nowadays. I guess I must be getting older (nearly 50 in a few years time, but I have no problem with my age except that every single bones of my body are rattling to each other if I go for a long walk). I must stop rambling on a non-sense talk, and better get on with the homework. The answers are… 1.I have never been good at cleaning my room and making it tidy. 2. It was hard at first to do that in the pharmacy on time, the whole task has become easier. During this time, 3.I have to deal with the new drugs coming to the pharmacy.4. I arrange them in categories; write down their expiry date in the records, 5. Put the price labels on, 6. Then put them on/at the shelf. Have a wonderful day!

Hi Rachel Beautifull song and a singer with a very nice and colorfull voice. But that's not my kind of music. Anyway, it was very interesting to hear it. Bye.
Hi Rachel! I have never worked too hard to build up very solid grammar knowledge. I learn alone and am not disciplined enough to do exercises. My preposition choice are in the 1st paragraph - in, over; in the second - with, down, on, on. And now the atempt to correct my last comment in using your tenses: ..the blue hortensia and I had sent it... Than she e-meiled... Anyway, at my visit she could see..and took(has taken)? Would this make better understanding how it goes on your time line? It is really a difficult task how to use tenses when I try retell the description of some event. The omission of some descriptive time expressions or place details make it no clear understanding in your language. But I don´t travel, don´t speak and at reading only it seems all much easier. I am waiting on your trip blog with or without humming!
In your previous post, you mentioned about the song and that’s what made me to put my hands on here to share something about the music. Whenever I write something about music, it is obviously that I always write about Illayaraja and his scintillating work in the music. Even now I am going to share about his music, you might wonder who this person taking about and what special about his music. I vouch for Illayaraja’s composition would bring magic in our life. What I mean by magic in music, yeah his music bring everything in our life like joy, sorrow, love, etc.. all the feeling we could get from his music without getting into the real situation. Most of his compositions in south Indian languages like tamil, Malayalam, kannada, and telugu , and few numbers in Hindi language too, as well in English too………………………………….. I would like the share some of his composition. Each and every song is master piece; especially his back ground score in the movies are brilliant…………..I am afraid these songs are in tamil language, you may find it boring initially but it will win over you soon if you patiently listen to it few times. ………….. Just to start with I am giving my all time favorite song, I had listen to this song many times since my childhood but every time I listen to it I am finding something new in this song, may be the way the music instruments are used, either it could be violin or fluid that goes in the prelude and interlude, humming etc. It is simply superb the violin is played in such a way we get the feel that it should be mini symphony I could say at the least. We cannot miss the small bit of here, if we heed to the instruments played throughout the song even you could see there is jerk in the flute now and then, I am not sure whether could be identify it. Of course, female singer has done her job neat. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e--WEZgePZM&feature=related. And here the is the link for an English song, and it is has good lyrics too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoKBfHwgS58 . Excellent flute play here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okQuQMdW3Eg&feature=related. Music that brings tears here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuqkPLx6zmw&feature=related. Some scintillating beats which meant for evil sprit haunting situation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_Uwd0iTAyM . And the last one which you definitely hum as it has only humming ‘lalala’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVPnDJKt1M0&feature=PlayList&p=115FDB3029979958&index=3 . Finally I am sharing some interesting clip where the goddess kills the demon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsQbsSMeFV4&feature=related Hope you enjoy these songs.
