Grammar Challenge Answers
Well, everyone got 100% in the vocabulary challenge, so well done!
The grammar's tough, eh? Nobody got all 3 questions correct, so here are the answers:
1. So, you’re in China! I’m glad you’re having a good time
(present continuous for something happening now, at this moment, or around now)
2. He didn’t have much money on him, so I picked up the tab
(most people got this correct, congratulations!)
3. I’ve been speaking it for years now, so I’ve never thought about the first words I learnt in English
(past simple for a skill learnt in your childhood)

Well done to everyone, and I’ll be back soon - just got to go and see a man about a dog. ;-)
Best wishes,

Hi Sarah, Have you seen slum dog millionaire. I haven’t seen yet. I must see the movie soon. I wanted to see the English version of the film. The film is screening in the dubbing form in our own language right now in town. It’s great that it bagged many Oscar awards. Some of the Indian artists received the award. It was produced by the British director. Lots of criticism was going on whether it is an Indian movie or British movie. I think It shows the real situation in the Mumbai slum. Why director shows too much ugliness of the slum. Any how it received the award. One of our music director A.R.R name has become known to the world. If you watch the movie let me have your view on that movie.
Hi Paulraj, __________________________________ No, I haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire, but I'd like to! What a great expression you used: to 'bag' loads of Oscars! __________________________________ Do you think the film intentionally emphasises the harshness of the slums in order to create a stronger impact? A case of cver-sensationalisation perhaps? I've never been to Mumbai, although I've seen slums in other countries. __________________________________ I'd be interested to hear what your views! __________________________________ Best wishes, Sarah ps am using lines because the blog doesn't support paragraph breaks, as you well know ;-)
Hi sarrah if you are english teacher then why don't you not try to come to Hunza valley to teach english. As we have lot of community schools and their medium of instruction is english. I think someone like you can improve this medium.
Hello Paulaj! I´m not Sarah, but have seen the movie Slumdog Millionaire and I think it is great. "Some of the Indian artists received the award". Congratulations! It was well- deserved! About Mumbai slums, I felt sad with abject poverty. Anyway, actors performance was great and I love the soundtrack also.
