Keeping the ball rolling

Hello everybody! Thanks to Simon for getting us teachers started... the student bloggers are putting us to shame! It’s lovely to have the chance to say hello again, even though it doesn’t feel like that long ago since I was blogging in August. Not much has changed since then except I’m feeling more settled in Frome and Louie and Oslo (my two boys) are of course just a little bit bigger. It’s Oslo’s 1st birthday on Friday! Crazy.

I’ve been doing some more freelance work recently, writing materials for teachers to use in their English classrooms. It’s quite creative and I like thinking about how to introduce language points and skills in a fun and interesting way… well, hopefully they’re fun and interesting! Fitting it all in around the kids is a bit hectic but I enjoy it so it's worth it.

We all went to Paris recently on the Eurostar train to celebrate our ten year anniversary. Actually, it wasn’t the anniversary of our wedding but ten years since our first “date”. Paris was fabulous, I’d never been there before. I think next time we might go without the kids though as it would be a bit more romantic :-) Here are a couple of photos for you…

Next week I’m going to Madrid to visit my brother and his family who live over there. I’ll be sure to post some photos and let you know how the trip goes. I’m going with my parents and Louie and Oslo – Ed (my husband) has to stay here and work… poor him! Actually I think he’s probably looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet, I know I would be :-)

It’s been great reading all your blogs and comments over the last few months, I’m looking forward to hearing from everyone this month. A big hello to the student bloggers I blogged with, Kiran, Adriana and Yumi, and of course everyone else too!

Okay, better go - the kids are literally bouncing off the walls.

More soon…

Amy
p.s. Hopefully heading to Turkey next year some time Simon - I'll be in touch if we make it over there!

Hello Amy, it's really good to see Oslo, it was back in August and September he was a baby to be then we got the news of his arrival to this world and now he's going to celebrate his first birthday. Louie is now a big boy. Best wishes, Naheed

Hi Amy! It’s wonderful to see you and your family’s picture on the teacher’s blog again. I found it a little funny that you and your family looked wet even though you were in Paris. It seems the rain follows you everywhere. When I was pregnant about 5months my husband and I went to Paris. We enjoyed food, open cafés and the can-can show in a theatre every minute. Time just flies, and Oslo will be one and is having a birthday party! Happy birthday, Oslo! Has Louise still enjoyed riding a bicycle and made lots of friend in your street? I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon, and take carexx

Hi Amy! Your little sons look lovely. Nice to have you here :-). Ana Paula.

Hello Ana Glad to see you again and happy to hear the wonderful news! All the best. Bïa

Hello Amy! Your post is just lovely, the boys as well. Oslo´s first birthday-unbelievable! And he is yet such experienced traveler! It seems we see you always under umbrela so I wish you the most sunny days at your next romantic visit and lots of enjoyment at the freelance work. Looking forwards to the post from Madrid, I visited any of the cities either. Have a nice day!

Hello, Amy! I would like to know what the Eurostar train is and is it expensive to use it? Do you know where is a cheap accommodation in Paris? I am going to go to Paris also soon.

Hi Amy! It is great to hear from you. My sister likes Paris. About me, I really like Madrid. I visited this city last year and I had fun. My hostel was in Sol. Have you been to Spain before? Does your brother like Madrid? I am just saying that because the lifestyle of Spain is different from the other countries of Europe. About Slow Food, yes it is very popular over here. Fresh milk on tap has become very widespread even if you do not live in the sticks. We often buy it and it is not expensive. Catch up with you soon!!

Hi Amy. How nice to see you and your family!

Hi Amy, It's nice to hear from you again. Happy Birthday to Oslo's first year! Your pictures of France are lovely. What a nice way to celebrate your anniversay! Hope you have a wonderful time in Madrid. Looking forward to your next blog. Cris

Hi Amy! Its good to see you again. I like all your posted family pictures. Do you have any plans for christmas?. Do you make resolutions for new year? If yes then what are they? We're waiting to read your another post. Bye and keep in touch! Mahjabeen

Dear Amy! I also feel that there is a connection between you, your family and rainy weather wherever you go. :) Amy, have a safe journey to Madrid. I also hope that you get good weather. Oslo, enjoy your first birthday and I wish you many more! Believe it or not, I know what you mean by having a more romantic journey without children. But, it is easier to say than do. Let me explain. At the beginning of September I spent a week in Montenegro with my husband. It was great - warm weather, comfortable hotel, good food, nice people and marvellous landscape etc. I have never seen so many mountains and valleys in my whole life. We drove a lot on dangerous serpentine paths, swum in the see, went boating around the bay, sunbathed a little and just relaxed. BUT: it was our first holiday without children and I missed my 17-year-old son. What is more he actually admitted that he missed me too. Take care,

Hi Amy, once you are here, the ball will keep rolling. Now, 12 student bloggers meet 4 teacher bloggers (plus Simon are 5), it is equivalent. Your writing is as attractive as usual. See you.

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
