Newsflash - BBC blogs win an award!

Sorry to 'interrupt' you Trudi, but I wanted to make a quick announcement.

The BBC student and teacher blogs have won an Elton award!

What's that? Well, it is a very special award given by the British Council for innovative English language resources. The British Council describes the awards as 'the Oscars of the English language teaching world'!

What's more, BBC Learning English has won a second Elton for our interactive soap opera, The Flatmates.

You can read more about the awards, and see some photos of the ceremony here.

I'm sure you'll join me in saying 'well done' to Paul and Carrie who work hard to look after these blogs. But we feel very strongly that the award really belongs to you - the student bloggers, the teacher bloggers and the whole learning community who have made these blogs so very special.

So, thank you... and congratulations! You are all winners!

Congratuations! BBC blogs deserve this award. These blogs are really wonderful, but it's a pity that i've missed many interesting things here.I'll keep on watching these blogs and make full use of them.I hope it isn't too late for me to join here.

Happy with you.

CONGRATULATIONS to all for this well-deserved, superb means of teaching/ learning English.

Thanks and congradulations to Paul, Carrie, and you William for the very practical and effective blog and the well-deserved prize.

Congratulations and many thanks for all the BBC learning English teem that make it possible for us to improve our English little by little! I'm so grateful to the teachers for being constantly pointing out our mistakes... Trudi: even when I have never written to you before, let me tell you that I always enter this page and have a good time reading your blog!! I wish I had the time to write you some day! All my regards from Argentina!

Congratulation to the whole team!

Dear William, Paul, Carrie and all the team! Actually, I wrote to Trudi on Thursday, newertheless it didn´t appear, that folowing this page, learning language and as an extra bonus getting to know people from various countries has been getting to my life a precious dimension and enrichment. BBC LE site is a constant source of knowledge and pleasure. A BIG Thank you! It has learned me not wasting the time where I can´t learn something usefuful to help me in my personal development. About three weaks back on February, I received the SMS from UK NOKIA, which anounced me that my MOBILE number has won 100,000 GBPounds on the ongoing NOKIA 2008 Promo. I have never called back to ask my win. Oh yes, I was excited for a while (I wouldn´t go to work any more!), but I prefer to gain knowledge more than money.

What a fantastic news!I wish I had been with you at the ceremony so I could have given you my standing ovation. You are thoroughly deserved the Eton award and I am so happy for you and your team.

Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
