Hello to Everyone
Dear Lemlem
I would like to start by welcoming Lemlem to the Learning English student-teacher blog. I’m looking forward to reading your first post! My next very important job is to thank Stephen, Soyoung, Frederico and all of the learners who have participated in this blog over the last two months. It has been so interesting to read of all of your entries and made me appreciate what a truly global digital community we now live in. I have been teaching English to international learners for many years, and I can safely say that one of the best things about this job is the wonderful experience of meeting learners from all over the world. Reading the Learning English blog is like being in a virtual classroom, and I feel that I know some of you already! I hope you will all continue reading the blog and sending in your comments, because that is what makes the site so lively and exciting.
And what a superb teacher we have had for the past two months! I’m going to have quite a job taking over from Stephen, but fortunately he isn’t saying goodbye to the Learning English site, just “au revoir”. Now, to move onto my own introduction, you can already see my name, so I’ll tell you a little bit about myself. Over the years, I’ve taught in many different schools and colleges, teaching English to children, young people and adults. I now live in the north of England, about seven miles west of Newcastle Upon Tyne. I was born and grew up about three miles from where I am sitting as I write this! In between leaving Newcastle and coming back, I spent fourteen years studying, teaching and travelling! I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere soon, though, as I have a husband and two children (both boys), who all keep me very busy…
So, Lemlem, please send me your post and introduce yourself!
Best wishes
Samantha

Hello Samantha, I wish you good luck. I was so sad because it was the end of Stephen's and Soyoung's blog that I thought I would never comment anymore. But once I read your and the new student's blogs, I suddenly remembered that we must continue studying. For a short time (2 months) I forgot I was studying. However, the fact that we readers really loved the last teacher, it doesn't mean that we will not appreciate your lessons too. I think it was a goog beginning because I have difficulty in these expressions with "ing". Please feel confortable with us and think of how many people you will help with your knowledge. It's also a singular(or single?) opportunity for you to make us well impressed with british people. I have never thought british people had so good sense of humour. In this field, Stephen did a good job. I hope you succeed too. If you have already taught english to children and have 2 kids ( I hv 1 and I'm almost crazy)...I "can safely say" this challenge will be easy for you.
Hi,Samatha It is nice to meet you and I hope you have a great time with us here.I can safely say I understand how busy you are.Because you have 2boys and one big boy(I mean your husband). In my exprience, sometimes the boy demands more than little ones and makes me run off my feet.I don't think you are worried to take over Stephen's position as you have already proved yourself a good teacher.Good luck!
hello samantha, nice to meet you.its quite a great honor for me to write a blog on this site BBC english, it's actually my first time. I'am also a high school teacher, but not in a teaching profession as of yet, maybe in the near future. I'am quite reluctant to teach, I'am not that confident yet of teaching. I'am currently working in a telecommunication here in the phil.wow!you sure am a proud mom with 2 kids.nice you've been blessed with 2 nice and intelligent kids.
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
