Bury have signed Blackpool midfielder Phil Clarkson on a month's loan.

The 33-year-old replaces Jason Jarrett in the Shakers' squad following his departure to Wigan.

He could make his debut in the relegation showdown with Northampton on Saturday.

Clarkson has made over 200 appearances for the Seasiders, scoring 42 times, after spells with Scunthorpe and Crewe.

He helped Steve McMahon's men gain promotion from the Third Division last season, but has barely figured in the first-team at Bloomfield Road this term.

"Phil is a goalscoring midfielder and he will be a welcome addition to the squad for our last five games," boss Andy Preece told Bury's official club website.
