Hole 17 at Royal Troon
Rabbit, 222 yards, par three

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

A tremendous par three, the hardest on the course even ahead of the Postage Stamp.

If the wind is up you might see the odd player hitting a wood but it always plays a long iron at best.

The green is perched up and offers the chance of either hitting a low chaser or flying the ball all the way.

There is a very popular bunker front right and if you miss on the left it scoots down the bank leaving a high pitch back up.

Missing the green anywhere means it is awkward to get down in two and players will be delighted to walk off with a three.

Named after the proliferation of rabbits in the area.
