Hole 13 at Royal Troon
Burmah, 472 yards, par four

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

Turning back towards the clubhouse again, the hole plays into the teeth of any prevailing wind. If the front nine was easy, it gets increasingly difficult from here on in.

The dog-leg left-to-right fairway is bunkerless but nevertheless full of potential hazards.

It's a very difficult fairway to find owing to the humps and hollows but you have to rip it with a driver because sometimes the fairway seems unreachable.

So-called because it was designed shortly after Burma was taken over by Britain in 1886.
