Hole 8 at Royal Troon
Postage Stamp, 123 yards, par three

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

One of the most famous holes in golf and the shortest on the Open rota.

An incredibly difficult hole fraught with dangers.

It's such a small target - 10 yards wide at the back and 13 at the front with big, deep bunkers all around the green.

If you find the green, you're always close enough to the flag for a birdie chance but miss it in one of the bunkers and if the ball plugs you're in deep trouble and can run up a cricket score.

The wind twists across slightly from the right. A great hole for spectators on the sandhills all around the green.

Named after the diminutive size of the green.
