Hole 11 at Royal Troon
The Railway, 490 yards, par four

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

Without doubt the most frightening tee shot on the course.

Out-of-bounds all down the right, you can't see the narrow fairway and there are gorse bushes in front of you and all down the left.

One bunker lurks tight to the front left of the green, requiring a very linksy second shot.

The championship tee has been pushed further back and to the right, tight against the railway line.

With the added yardage the hole will be playing absolute maximum distance back into any wind.

A really testing par four and little margin for error off the tee.

Will almost certainly average nearer five then its par four.

Named after the railway line which runs all the way down the right of the hole.
