Hole 16 at Oakland Hills
406 yards, par four

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

The course's signature hole is a very interesting par four because there is water all the way up the right-hand side of the green.

From the tee, a fairly narrow fairway can be seen and you want to see your ball land on it.

Anything else will leave an almost impossible task of reaching the green without risking an encounter with a hazard along the way.

Most players will hit a three wood off the tee, instead of a driver, because finding the fairway is the priority.

The narrow and shallow green is guarded by bunkers on the left and the large expanse of water.

There will be a lot of adventures on this hole and a lot will come from missing the fairway from the tee.
