Hole 5 at Oakland Hills
455 yards, par four

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

This is quite a long par-four and many will be tempted to play the driver from the tee.

However, if you go into the rough or find the bunker then the stream comes into play.

The second shot needs to fall short of the flag, in order to putt up the hill on a severe sloping green.

If you go over the back then it is quite difficult to stop the ball running, although wherever you land it will prove very difficult to get down in two.

The drive is the key. If you find the fairway then it is playable. Miss, and it is odds-on a bogey will be the result.
