Hole 4 at Oakland Hills
430 yards, par four

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

A very well-bunkered hole with four on the left and two on the right of the fairway.

It plays a little downhill, so a lot of players will hit a three-wood because the fairway really bites in the area the tee shot is about to land.

But it's a small target to aim for. If you miss the fairway, which is only 20 to 22 yards wide, there is a big chance of finding a bunker.

The second shot is down the hill to a green that tends to run away. You have to try to hit past the flag in order to leave an easier uphill putt.

The key is finding the fairway on this tricky little par-four. Success will leave a short-iron shot for a birdie opportunity.
