"On Front Row recently Kate Bush said, 'clothes are like people without the people in them', which was startling as I was working at that moment on a life-size image of a coat hung up on the wall. This coat is one of a long ongoing series. This was one of my friend Paul Caro's. The human or 'people' content, the way the clothes hold something of the body even when hung up, is an important part of the reason why I work from them. It was a good example of being connected to humanity by Radio 4."
