Martin Love
Martin Love
Born: 30/3/74
Team: Queensland
Test debut: v England at Melbourne, 2002/03

Right-handed batsman
Right-arm off-break bowler

Another batsman who could have been forgiven for thinking Test cricket had passed him by, Love pushed his claims for a place in the side in the best way possible.

By the time he stepped in for the injured Darren Lehman for the fourth Ashes Test, he had already hit two double centuries against the English tourists.

And he backed up his credentials with an unbeaten 62 on debut.

Despite the claims of younger batsmen to fill the place vacated by Mark Waugh, Love and Darren Lehmann are the only contenders for this tour and are likely to vie for a single spot.
