Croft has been in the international wilderness since playing against Australia in the Ashes in 2001.

But last season he had a fantastic time with county side Glamorgan, in which he got runs on the board as well as taking wickets with his off-break bowling.

Croft enjoyed his last trip to Sri Lanka three years ago, forging a great partnership with Ashley Giles and taking nine wickets as England wrapped up a series win.

He has taken 49 Test wickets in total and most of these have come on overseas tours.

Croft has already tasted success with England this winter, he recently led the team to glory in the Hong Kong Sixes.
