ANDREW FLINTOFF
Right-hand batsman; right-arm fast-medium bowler

FACTFILE
Andrew Flintoff
DOB: 6.12.1977
Team: Lancashire
Test debut: v South Africa, Trent Bridge 1998
ODI debut: v Pakistan, Sharjah 1999

England's only world-class all-rounder has had contrasting form with the bat in the subcontinent.

He has enjoyed success in one-day matches in Pakistan and - spectacularly so - in Bangladesh, but struggled desperately in Tests in India.

The home series against South Africa saw Flintoff demonstrate a new-found maturity with the bat, although his best strokes have lost none of their aggression.

And his bowling remained tight and threatening even though he has yet to return a major wicket haul.

He missed the opportunity to continue his Test learning curve in Bangladesh after being ruled out with a groin injury.
