PAUL COLLINGWOOD
Right-hand batsman; right-arm medium bowler

FACTFILE
Paul Collingwood
DOB: 29.9.1981
Team:Durham
Test debut: -
ODI debut:v Pakistan at Birmingham 2001

Collingwood would have had a full summer of Test cricket behind him were it not for a dislocated shoulder that kept him out for much of the 2003 season.

But such is his stock with the England selectors that the Durham all-rounder was still an automatic choice for the winter tours when he was passed fit.

With a gritty nature that England prize highly, Collingwood's batting and fielding are his strongest suits.

His stubborn yet fluent batting was best displayed in a maiden century against Australia in Perth prior to the World Cup.

However, medium pace bowling that can come into its own when conditions suit, as against New Zealand at Napier in 2002, when he took 4-38, should not be underestimated.
