Much too tired to suggest any choon today. It's a combination of post-Olympic fatigue, Tuesday (see Simon's contribution) and the fact I've only had two days off this year (apart from public holidays). I'm cream crackered (other cheesy biscuits available).



Regarding the blogmeet suggested for 20th October for Sheffield - this looks like a very good date overall. I've checked the football fixtures and neither Sheffield club is at home that day, so no unwelcome crowds to contend with. The suggested venue looks promising and should be very easy to find. I've no idea what parking will be like - I've only been to Sheffield once, in early 1978. I expect it's changed beyond recognition since then, not that I can remember anything of my visit. (Senility setting in, I imagine).

I am immensely cheered by the return of fun foodie programmes on the telly [Great British Bake Off and Celebrity Masterchef] to fill that 2012LondonLympics-sized hole in my day.





If anyone has already said this - apple ogees - I haven't read back yet

#71 Shona, you were right about the storm... after a sunny morning, at around 1.40 pm, when I was at work and about to head for the bank, we had what seemed like a cloudburst for about 10 minutes and a loud clap of thinder, then by 2pm the streets were steaming and the sun has been out ever since!
