Don't get chance much to blog at the moment, but I do try and sneak in from time to time.



I listened to and watched The Wombles last night, and seemed to strangely remember (member member!) all the words. I loved the Wombles on TV as a child.



Interesting times at work- I'm currently in a small office of 4. Although my job is entirely separate and I report to one of the Directors, there is huge office politics going on with the other three, and the atmosphere can be somewhat icy and quiet and this can go on sometimes, all day. So the Blog is my guilty refuge!



Must go and will try and join in the mensh chasing later.

Heard the show last night but was listening on the ipad so couldn't watch it live. Enjoyed being whisked back to my childhood.

Morning pop pickers



Didn't hear the show last night but just spent a nostalgic 5 mins watching the video of the Wombles on the blog. Brought back many happy memories. I wondered if the poor chap having his desk tidied by Madame Cholet is the NYM? I'm a bit concerned that Orinoco is developing a humpback in his old age. And the guitarist (Tomsk? Tobermory?) with the glasses perched on the end of his nose is bearing more than a passing resemblance to a certain dudish Drivetime DJ (In fact, I meant to say before, that I noticed whenever pix are posted of his Lordship with guests, he seems to adopt their physical characteristics, a bit like dogs and their owners - they smile, he smiles; they wear black, he wears black; they put a hand on his shoulder, he puts a hand on their shoulder). Take a look and you'll see what I mean.



Anyway, busy day today, so see you later.

Can't make up my mind whether I like those blue Christmas lights or not, as they seem so ... er ... vibrant and a bit fierce.



I think I'm just used to the familiarity of my white twinkly lights.

Are these blue lights in your bedroom, Katy? We always have white lights but have just bought some new LD ones that are still in the box but look like they might have a blueish effect looking at the pics... we shall see once the tree, won in a raffle, is delievered later.

Poorly Katy - white twinkly lights always!

we have some blue ones for the outside tree they look nice when it snows but they are a bit 'in your face' which is why I guess the emergency services have flashing blue lights?

I have white on the house trees and on the stair garland....yes I lurve Christmas!

The homework sucks question last night? My Dad told me that it was the fuse light when I was about 7 years old! I though everyone would have known that? Mind you, my Dad did fill our minds with all kinds of everything. I knew how to change a plug at about the same age too. There's something that you dont need to do that often these days.



More wet stuff cascading from the sky this morning. I drove through all kinds of conditions last night, huge branches down and deep standing water. A blanket of snow over Exmoor yesterday afternoon. You really do have to have your wits about you and be prepared for every eventuality.

No more driving child #3 to school, so both are probably still slumbering as we speak...

It was the first time i ever heard a womble been interviewed, loved it!

it took me back to my childhood, where i first saw them perform on TOTP

"The BBC has been flooded with complaints after a Womble removed the head of his costume during a webcast show on Radio 2, reports the Telegraph. The rubbish-collecting children's favourites were appearing on Simon Mayo's Drivetime show, which was screened as a live webcast online.



Orinoco the Womble removed his head before the filming had stopped, prompting tears from children around the country, who were presented with the sad fact that the Wombles aren't real! As the interview came to an end, Mike Batt, creator of the Wombles who was dressed as Orinoco, took off his Womble head before the filming had stopped.



The BBC has since removed the link showing the unfortunate head removal from its website, leaving just the interview and song performances. Mike Batt quickly took to Twitter to apologise to fans, saying his costume was a bit too toasty:



"On no - they told us we were off air!!!! I told them (the BBC) that I needed a break after the songs (as it) was a high heat effort - they were supposed to give me a two minute break!"



A spokesman for the BBC admitted there was a bit of a head-related blunder during the show, saying: "The Wombles played a festive set for Radio 2 which was filmed for live online streaming.The Wombles were aware they were being filmed, but he (Mike Batt) just took his head off. The group were fully aware that they were being filmed and had not been given the all clear that they were off air."
