Morning to all, hoping everyone had a great weekend.



Wisdom of the day, never fully believe all the product desciptions on Ebay, I had ordered and just received a telephone headset, (I do alot of calls from home) and the damn thingy does not fit. Having made sure the description matched the phones spec I placed the order. I even checked online to see if my rather old BT phone matched the headset.

Oh well another return, I would rather buy it in a shop anyway. Something satifying wandering around Maplins in a daze, trouble is I always come home with some other little gizmo's I don't really need.

My opinion of Bob Dylan is that while he is clearly quite the genius when writing songs, unfortunatly thats where it ends cos he couldent hold a tune in a bucket!

My first day back at work this morning and it was so nice to see everyone, especially when they said theyed missed me. Just doing mornings this week in conjunction with my deputy who amusingly this morning tried to tell me how to do my job. Bless. Typically the whole family started with a stinking cold this weekend so that was a 'fun' thing to contend with on the first day back.



Off to join the 'sickly' cherub n hubbs who are snuggled up on the couch watching cartoons :-)

Morrissey Mullen - I had the pleasure of seeing them in St Albans on a reunion tour many years ago. Had seen Dick Morrissey and Jim Mullen seperately in a trio with Mike Carr previously, and also Dick Morrissey with his own quartet in my local which used to host the Herts Jazz club. Morrissey's Soliloquy album is one of my favourites - a great sax player, sadly missed.

Simon, thanks for your kind words. It was a pleasure to help out on the phones, everyone involved got a real buzz out of the day, and I hope we get invited back to do it all again next year. And thank you so much for taking the time to come and see us. I think you just about made it to the studio in time for your show!



No mensh chasing for me today. I'll miss the show as I'm going to see Simon's colleague and pal Mark Kermode. Will have to 'listen at a time more convenient' though, as I love Russell Watson. He performed at Proms in the Park this year - at one point he turned to the audience and said "This is why I lived". Awww...



#47 Mo and I had a fantastic time at Strictly. The only 'live' bit is the Saturday night show - and even then the opening dance was pre-recorded before they started on air. There was a great atmosphere at Wembley, although I have to say having been last year to Shepherd's Bush that the former was better - more 'intimate' as it was smaller. And we didn't really need to be told to clap - I would say 90% of the time it was spontaneous!

Lovely to hear your news of exciting trips up the Big Smoke, raising money for charity, dinners out, shared girls bedroom (was there enough energy for a midnight feast?) and lastly, but not leastly Strictly Live at Wembley! Must have been a memorable few days, special times.

RE live bands - Bob 'the mumbler' Dylan was on TV the other day & Mr e (professional muso) declared his band 'amazing' and that they were carrying the great man.

I also though the band of SCD got a bit lost in the vastness of the auditorium of Wembley- not quite as hot and tight as they usually are in studio - presumably those that were there think differently?

RE Theme, nothing new to add - my fave is David Bowie of course 'Everybody says hi'

I was a bit run-down over the weekend so played it safe not doing much EXCEPT I must say that Lord Ammo is so lucky that child #3 is a boy - as my child #3 (gal) just turned 13 and I had to go to see, for her b'day, the new teen movie:

'Twiglet - The Breaking Yawn' which was a rite of passage...sitting next to an embarrassed, squirming teen while watching simulated sex, baby birth, wolf-men and vampires (in fact the vampire scenes were a welcome relief to her I suspect)

Morning all I have had a lovely hello yesterday - finally got to meet & cuddle Oor Willie, my nephew - at last! He's only 5 weeks old and all new and milky smelly.



I actually prefer the DAVID GRAY - SAY HELLO WAVE GOODBYE version. As well as 'Mr Blue Sky' (I wish I had some of that here in foggy Horsforth) I remember Dave Lee Travis introducing them as 'Eeee ello' in a Lanky accent. Well you had to be there I think.
