I had the best nights sleep ever because I got the summer duvet back out and placed it on top of the winter duvet. Twas 'snuggle paradise'



The only set back was, that I woke up this morning, thinking it was Saturday, then reality set in, doh!



Never mind, Friday is the next best thing and as long as I dont wake up tomorrow and find out it is Monday, then all will be well.



Right, off to top up the bird feeders and refresh the bird bath.

I saw this bloke chatting up a cheetah and I thought he's trying to pull a fast one.



So I got home, and the phone was ringing. I picked it up and said "Who's speaking please?" And a voice replied "You are."



You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said "Parking Fine" so that was nice.



I was stealing things in the supermarket today while balanced on the shoulders of vampires. I was charged with shoplifting on three counts.



So I fancied a game of darts with my mate. He said, "Nearest the bull goes first." He went "Baah" and I went "Moo." He said "You're closest."

Deebee - no. She's been on my back for so long I just let it wash over me now. I hate myself for responding as it does make it awkward for others, but I refuse to let her spout her opinions without a right to reply. I think that's only human nature.



I just generally feel down. I need a break from work - our holiday in August seems ages ago now. Usually by this time of year I'm all shopped out and ready for Christmas, but apart from a few online bits, I've not even started yet and that's kind of scaring me too, if I'm honest.



I'll be ok. Just need to "man up" and sort myself out.

#36 Deevs, it's perfectly okay to feel down. If we didn't have the down times, we wouldn't appreciate the up times nearly so much! And I know it's not always possible to 'pull yourself together' and 'snap out of it'. Just accept the fact that you're a bit under par at the moment, it's a phase and sooner or later something wonderful will happen. Like maybe Mr Rolastic will come home this evening with an enormous bunch of roses! (Nic, if you're lurking, take note!)

On our Scrabs game on FB, MTD left me a message saying our profile pics at the top of our Scrabs game makes it look like the four of us are on some kind of surreal double date. It really made me giggle, so much so, I was compelled to share with Nic, and yep, he laughed too.



Just been sat out with our Receptionist. She's lovely and is justas frustrated with stuff here as me at the mo. We've agreed we could run this place a lot better between us!

Evening all! Seem to have lost my brain in all this snow LOL. Who got the ARF? Radio is on but mind elsewhere. As it was earlier when I took cash out and which has now vanished. I didn't spend it, honest I'm not that pre-occupied.



How are all you lovely people? Sorry to hear you're a bit down Deevs. Will the dancing be on tonight? Got lots to catch up on but will need to wait until tomorrow. Out for department Xmas dinner in an hour. And I haven't started getting ready ;-). It's so cold I'll be dressing for comfort rather than style I think.



Can someone help with yesterday's show. Sally traffic had just started a rant about the confession when the car radio switched to local traffic news. Road I was driving was "passable with care" so thought I should listen. When it changed back the show had moved on. Can't remember what it was about but I was laughing my head off when she started. Meant to come on last night but forgot. Told you, heid like mince LOL.

We had our advent service a couple of nights ago too, but they never sing anything we can join in with. Its always things that only the kids and the choir teacher know.



Cherub was an angel and splendid at that, but id love for them to have a final carol the grown ups could all join in with.

Good Morning All



Sorry for my disappearance yesterday. It turned into a bit of a hectic afternoon/evening, including a trip to the hairdressers and church, while somehow managing to fit in some dinner in between. I heard Tortie's ARF, and gave an extra big whoop! It was also lovely to hear Simon wishing his son a happy birthday on air. Make the most of it, Simon - give him another couple of years and it will be all too embarrassing.



The GD and I are off to Strictly this afternoon. See if you can spot us in the audience. If you haven't met me, you'll probably have seen my FB pics, and she's a younger, more beautiful (taller!) version. I probably won't be able to blog or tweet - in fact it says on the tickets that they take your phone away from you, although I can't quite believe that. I'll report back on how it was tomorrow (without of course giving any spoilers away - the Sunday results show is actually filmed tonight).

What weird weather. Despite torrential rain in the night there is plenty of snow, and ice, left on the ground, and it is foggy! All we need is a hurricane and we have pretty much all meteorological conditions covered here in Hampshire.



All of the above helped me decide to give this morning's 5k run a miss. So have the morning to do some baking instead.

No rain last night, but as temperature rose all snow disappeared as the night went on, quite weird to see it go just like that normally takes a couple of days.

BOO!

Just spent the last hour or two trying to do what Mother Mature CBA to do here. Clearing away a two inch layer of ice from the pavement outside the shop. I was quite amused after my toil to see folk slipping on the ice, and avoiding the now clear path. I said to one such passerby, that I was left feeling a touch disappointed that my efforts did not seem to have been merited, seeing as everyone was continuing to walk on the treacherous surfaces. She said that she was pleased to see that someone still had a sense of community spirit, and that it reminded her of her childhood, when everyone would clear the snow from the pavements outside their own property, perhaps putting down a sprinkling of ash from the home fire. In no time, the pavements would be safe to walk upon. Seeing as that attitude now seemed to be a thing of the past, she thought it would be nice to leave my cleared bit of footpath undisturbed by her own feet, for fear of messing it up again. Sometimes, you just cant win. ;0)

Oops. For Mother Mature, read Mother Nature. Unless you have a preference the other way, of course!

Kittens most disappointed. They expressed this at 6am by:



1. Doing an enormous on the carpet by Mr P's side of the bed

2. Trashing the bathroom - shower gel and shampoo bottles all thrown into the bath, towels dragged into the bath, topped off by toothbrushes put into the bath

3. Pulling over the clothes horse and the drying laundry.



Good start to the day.



Off to meet brother-in-law and family for lunch.

Just a quick poop by - it's been quite a hectic weekend all in all. We had a great time at Strictly yesterday - will probably say more about it tomorrow (no time now). I've been busy this afternoon making Christmas cake, which has just come out of the oven and smells delicious! And I've made a start on writing the Christmas cards. I seem to have acquired quite a few new friends this year... ;o) Which is a good thing, but does it mean I should drop some of the others that I haven't heard from all year off my list? Interesting conundrum...

Lovely lunch with brother in law, sister in law and nephew. Nephew at age 7 is turning into a cracking little chap.



First Christmas cd is being listened to - Blind Boys of Alabama. If you don't have it, rush out tomorrow and get it. It's my favourite. Super version of 'In the Bleak Midwinter' featuring Chrissie Hynde.



Glad SCD was good Deebee. On the card front, I have a Christmas card book. If I don't receive a card 2 years running, theyare off the list. Cruel? Maybe!!!
