Deev - from what I can remember, Anthony Phillips was one of the founder members of Genesis so I guess he went on to have a solo career.

Anthony Phillips was the guitarist in Genesis on "From Genesis to Revelations" and "Trespass". Then left to be replaced by Steve Hackett from "Nursery Crymes" onwards.

Thanks Ken! Knew someone here would know. Also figures - as the auction in question was held by a local (to my old stomping ground) hippy. Everyone in the town knew him - bit of a local "character" - he auctioned off ALL of hius vinyl to raise funds to buy a new keyboard and some studio time with my then-boyfiend. Other acquisitions from the night include War of the Worlds and some 10cc albums!
