Fernandez has graced the grass courts of Wimbledon with her presence just once, back last year, but she failed to quite make her mark.

The youngster's performances to date on the women's tour had been limited across the board until last month's French Open when she had a superb run.

She started the tournament ranked 87th in the world and stormed up the rankings before falling foul of Venus Williams in the semi-finals.

She looks unlikely to have the game to cause a repeat at Wimbledon.
