Suarez has slowly but surely crept up the world rankings but with little help from her previous results at Wimbledon.

In fact, the Argentinian has an appalling record at SW19, having won just twice out of nine matches.

But the latter part of 2001 and so far this year she has produced some of her best tennis.

So far she has racked up just two singles titles on the WTA Tour but she specialises in the doubles arena, having sealed a total of 22 titles on the tour.

She is currently in good form, having made it to the quarter-finals of the French Open.
