Despite losing a number of first round matches this season, Panova has risen up the rankings.

The Russian has yet to win a WTA title, although she did reach two finals this year - in Auckland and Sarasota.

She has reached the third round at Wimbledon twice, in 1999 and last year.

The diminutive player will be looking to take her good form of late, into this year's Wimbledon.
