Oswestry's recent Birmingham League Division Three revival came to an end as they fell by four wickets to Olton at Morda Road. Despite Dean Suter's unbeaten 52, Oswestry could only reach 131 - not enough to avoid a four-wicket defeat. In the top flight, the weather rescued Shifnal, who were struggling at Walmley after being dismissed for 162. In Division One, Shrewsbury and Wellington were both in winning positions when halted by the weather. Dan Rees (61) and Ed Foster (51) put Shrewsbury on top at Dorridge as they piled up 222-9. Tom Allen then took three wickets, but the rain saved Dorridge at 131-4. Wellington looked in even better shape at Attock. Chasing 278, they looked good on 194-1, of which Simon Harding made 63, before the rain came. In Division Two, by contrast, Newport and St Georges both had cause to be grateful for the intervention of rain. Despite a fighting 45 from skipper Stuart Blount, Newport reached only 151 against Water Orton, who were then halted with victory in sight at 120-4. And St Georges were hanging on at 97-8 in reply to Aston Manor's 186, in which Dragons spinner Hitshu Bachani took 7-36. In Division Three, the prolific Maisam Hasnain's unbeaten 104 was in vain as Whitchurch were prematurely halted on 150-2 at Kington, but Bridgnorth got off the bottom with a winning draw against relegation rivals Studley. Gareth Mumford's defiant 54 helped Bridgnorth to 182, and they then had Studley on the rack at 72-5. In the Shropshire League, second-placed Albrighton narrowed the gap at the top with a winning draw against leaders Reman's. Albrighton reached 240-7, before restricting the leaders to 180-7 to pick up 17 points to 11 for Reman's. Meanwhile, bottom team Much Wenlock went down by seven wickets to Bomere Heath (188-3). Ludlow reached 92 against Shelton before the rain arrived. And, in the other weather-affected games, Quatt were looking good on 77-3 chasing Madeley's 124, while Newtown had reached 63-1 in reply to Broseley's 148-6.
