Shropshire Premier League newcomers Much Wenlock's run of defeats continued on Saturday as Reman Services widened the gap at the top of the table. Shane Gwilt and Mal Serplet took four wickets each as Wenlock were bowled out for just 64 in reply to Reman's 119. Ludlow's Ali Raza (33) top scored in their 167 against Bomere Heath as the visitors eased to a seven-wicket win. Madeley were left frustrated after failing to bowl out Shelton (170-8) and had to settle for a losing draw. Stephen Pugh led from the front for the home side with 90 not out but Ben Matthews (64) stood firm at the crease to give Shelton a share of the points. Albrighton raced to a total of 318 with solid contributions from Darren Shimmons (89) and Gareth Hughes (58 not out) against Broseley. Mark Bissell's 4-20 helped the home side dismiss the visitors for 216 and secure the win. Craig Jones took four wickets for Quatt in their clash against Wem. Wem could only manage 131 all out and Dean Robinson led from the front scoring 48 as Quatt recorded a four-wicket win. In another low-scoring match, Newtown must have thought they were facing a heavy defeat against Welshpool after making 121 in the first innings. But it was the visitors who crashed to defeat after they were bowled out for a lowly 42, giving Newtown an important win.
