Shropshire pacesetters pull clear

Shropshire Premier League cricket

Reman's still lead the Shropshire Premier Cricket League after an excellent nine-wicket win at Wem.

Pete Ezard took 4-17 as Wem were bowled out for 94, John Wigley (35) and Mal Surplitt (32) seeing Reman's home.

Steve Pugh hit 95 as second-placed Madeley (208-7) eased past Broseley (111), Dinesh Patel taking 4-11.

Albrighton beat Much Wenlock by four wickets, Gareth Hughes hitting 42 after Jason Summers had earlier taken 4-27 in bowling the opposition out for 135.

Quatt secured an impressive eight-wicket win at Bomere Heath.

Chris Stephens' 78 helped the home side to 178-8, but Australian Dean Robinson hit a brilliant unbeaten 94 to see Quatt home.

Ludlow made it - but only just - at Newtown with a narrow, two-wicket win.

Three wickets apiece from Will Sparrow, Ali Raza and Peter Coote skittled Newtown for 86, but Ludlow then struggled to get there, finally reaching their target on 87-8.

Shelton's Andy Wigginton took 7-51 as Welshpool were bowled out for 207, of which Joe Birch made 69.

But Shelton then had to hold on for the draw on 158-6, Aussie Rhett Williamson making 59.
